Guest guest
Sherry, I'm afraid I cannot offer much more. Murray doesn't do the research himself. The book I was quoting is called " Encyclopedia of Nutritional Supplement " . Andy recommended it some time ago and many of us have found it useful. Murray seems pretty careful in relying on research. If your child doesn't seem to be having zinc level problems, then there is probably no benefit to supping zinc away. However, zinc is crucial to good health and many kids, like mine, seem to be hovering right on the edge of " enough " zinc. So, given that some studies do seem to indicate giving with calcium might impede absorption (there may be others beyond what I posted--I did not look more after finding that one), I play it safe®. Also, I give zinc away from food because I use enzymes for my son that contain DPP-IV. There is evidence that DPP-IV is inactivated by zinc. I hope that might help. Guest guest
Zinc inhibits DPP4, so give it away from meals. s_hoobler wrote: > > Thank you Anita, your so helpful!
