Guest guest
Hello, I was just wondering.... where can I buy Oat Milk? Thanks! ltgbryan <ltgbryan@...> wrote: • Unfortunately I could not breastfeed exclusively and gave my daughter formula. She had eczema that would not go away. I took her off the formula early, after researching dairy. Her eczema went away shortly after. Once I started learned about the dangers of dairy and wheat, our family stick to a wheat free, dairy free and as best as possible a gluten free diet. • I give my kids almond and coconut milk which I make myself … investing in a vitamix is the best thing I ever did. I am listing below some of the milk that can be substituted for dairy. Almond Milk o good for cereals, smoothies, hot drinks and baking o you can make yourself If you have a high powered like vitamix since some brands may have wheat maltodextrin added so read labels carefully if also avoiding wheat. Non-wheat maltodextrin is gluten free. o One ounce of almonds contains 12% of our daily protein requirements. The monounsaturated fat helps to increase good cholesterol in our bodies which helps to reduce heart disease. The antioxidant properties of vitamin E and selenium also help with cardiac health. The magnesium and potassium found in almonds also help with cardiovascular health. Potassium helps to maintain normal blood pressure and heart function. Magnesium, as well as relaxing our nervous system, has been shown to relax veins and arteries thus facilitating the flow of blood and nutrients around the body. Need I say more. o I heard that hazelnut is also very good, but I have never used it • Coconut Milk o is good in smoothies and sauces, especially curries o another one where it is better to make your own if you have a high powered blender o although high in saturated fat, it is low in calories. Once mistakenly believed to be unhealthy because of its high saturated fat content, it is now known that the fat in coconut oil is a unique and different from most all other fats and possesses many health giving properties. It is now gaining recognition as a nutritious health food. This is a controversial point, but I can bet that coconut milk does not cause the type of damage cows milk does. Here is an article on coconut milk o http://www.templeofthai.com/cooking/coconut_and_cholesterol.p hp • Oat milk o it is lactose, GMO, gluten and cholesterol free o high in calcium, light and creamy and can be used just like milk o good as a drink, on cereals and for baking, also available is an oat milk based 'ice cream' Here is a great video on research done on dairy – scroll down until you get to " the perils of dairy products " . In any form, it is just bad. Thee has been many studies showing that countries where little dairy produce is eaten, such as China, have very small percentages of osteoporosis, so it is possible to eat a balanced diet without dairy sources. http://tastymango.com/index.php? option=com_content & task=view & id=43 & Itemid=38 > > You don't have to give her milk of any kind. Think of it as just one food. If it's to give her something to drink, good old fashioned water is the best thing. You could give her cheese if she doesn't have a problem with it. Or some people here have talked about almond milk and would know more about that. > > I gave my kids rice or soy milk (but would pass on the soy for the boys if I had to do it again because of the estrogenic qualities). They sometimes would drink it, but mostly it was to put on cereal. > > Winnie > > > Milk for 1 year old. > Vaccinations > > > I have a question that is off topic.
