India gets $ 2.6 mn from Global Fund to fight HIV/TB

NEW DELHI : India has received US $ 2.6 million in grants from the

Global Fund for a two-year period to fight AIDS and TB.

Meeting in Thailand the Board of the Global Fund last week approved $

623 million in new two-year grants to programmes in different

countries to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

" In less than two years the Global Fund has become a leading force in

the fight against these three deadly diseases, " said Tommy G.
