Once Macey started IVIG she didn't need any shots because the antibodies

were in the doses. When she was first trialed off in 1998 she had the MMR.

She did not mount a response to part of it. Duke gave her this vaccination

as part of her function test. There was no problem with giving it because

she did not have a T-cell disorder. We've been told that only those

patients who lack t-cell function could be affected by live vaccinations.

Since then she's had 2 more MMR's and finally she responded. She hasn't had

the chicken pox vaccine because even off IVIG she kept a high number of

antibodies.

Hi, Sherrill,

I don't know the person's name at Merck I spoke to, but I believe I

called the following number:

1-800-MERCK-90 (1-800-637-2590), Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–7:00

PM, EST.

The gentleman told me that he could provide more information to me

if I were a nurse, which I am not.

Anyway, I, too, was very surprised by what he had told me.

> Hi All. I was always told that Kaitlyn could NOT get any live

vaccines. She did not get any of her childhood shots. She started

with IVIG at the age of 2 1/2 years. She is diagnosed as

hypogammaglobulinemia - CVID/PID. Our Immunologist always told us

that once she started receiving IVIG she did not need to worry about

receiving her vacinations because she would be covered by the MANY

donors it takes to make a dose of IVIG.

us staying with her) for 2 or 3 weeks when our son, who is healthy

received any of his normal shots.

they will let you know, to NOT be around anyone who has received a

live injection of any kind, including FluMist.

could be caused or " enhanced " by one of their products so to speak.

I would love to have more info on that.

Thank you for the information. Yali did not mount antibodies to

Prevnar, but he only had one shot and it was so long ago so we don't

know if he could make that type of antibody. He did have some

antibody protection for DTAP, but not sure if it was a therapeutic

level - if that's the right terminology. From the emails I'm

reading, it sounds like the live vaccines could be all right (he is

not on IVIG). I appreciate all the information.

Hi everyone!

A friend of mine had some questions about vaccines, and so I wanted to post them

here, hoping some of you could help me, please!  Here are her questions, I can

forward your responses to her.  Also, I'm going to tell her to join the group

too if she wants to!  Thanks in advance!

Here's her email:

Hey, i've been doing some more research on vaccines etc...

there is SO MUCH info out there..and cause i figure you're a bit

farther along then i am....you could help me out.

i can't find an alternative vaccine schedule.

also, what are the vaccines that are " necessary " as opposed to the ones that are

offered, but NOT NEEDED.

can't believe they give newborns the HEP B vaccine!!

also, should i contact my ped's office to make sure the dr. is okay w/ delaying

vaccinations?

i just don't want any confrontations/arguements about it.

do you know how i can find how the vaccination schedule has CHANGED since

2000/2001 until now???

I'm fairly new at this too, but I'll put in my 2 cents anyways ;)

I'd love to see one to!!!!!!!

>

> can't believe they give newborns the HEP B vaccine!!

I recently learned Hep B was STD related, and I had no idea!

Unfortunantly I gave it to my daughter in the hospital, and when she

went to get her 2nd round, she was given the Hep A instead by

mistake! But after that happened, I learned more about the B vaccine,

and she won't be continuing the series.

YES!!! I did some research when I moved to a different city. At first

I looked on the website, and at one office website, it said on the

Homepage that if any parent refuses vaccines, they will be kicked out

of the practice. Call and check first, it will save time and energy

in the long run!

Hi !

Please let your friend know that there isn't a safe vaccine out

there. A rubella vaccine damaged my hearing last year at 34 years

of age. Funny, my hearing was perfect before this vaccine and now I

have partial hearing loss as well as a learning disability - an

Auditory Processing Disorder. Hearing damage is listed as an

adverse reaction to this vaccine too. All it takes is ONE to do the

damage. I personally do not recommend spacing out or delaying

vaccines after my own personal ordeal (my infant was also suffering

from serious adverse reactions with only " some " of his recommended

ones at the same time - I refused certain ones based on information

supplied by the CDC only). The extent of his injuries will not be

known until the school years. My life has been a nightmare. Please

encourage your friend to purchase the book the Vaccine Safety Manual

by Neil Z. .

The AAP is catching on that many people are now questioning vaccine

safety. If you do not follow the entire recommended CDC schedule,

you will find it difficult to find a pediatrician. I cannot find

even one unless I sign an incriminating form supplied by the AAP

that states I am aware that the benefits outweigh the risks and by

not vaccinating my child - I'm selfish and a reckless parent.

The bottom line is that that was the best $20.00 I've ever spent

(purchased numerous copies for friends and family and received a

discount). If your friend wants the vaccine schedule from 2001,

have her contact the CDC for that.

For now, I am done with medical doctors. Who needs them? My

insurance company has stated that my emergency visits to the

hospital will be covered and I do not need an authorization from a

primary care doctor.

If your friend still feels after reading this book, that the

diseases are still scary (which I'm 100% positive that she won't

because the book contains over 1,000 sources to further

investigate), she may find an alternative schedule here. Again, I

do not support any vaccine personally.

I am so glad to see others besides me who point out that there is no

such thing as a safe vaccine. I often offend others because of my strong

views regarding vaccines, I am sorry if I do that but I would rather

offend people with the truth than sugar coat and lie about things.

Vaccines are poison, and no amount of " greening " , or spacing them out is

going to change this.
