Guest guest
We have used Quercetin and Vit. C (together) for allergies. If they can swallow pills, it's easier because the C can be bitter to mix in food. Solgar makes one that is not too bitter which my little guy will take mixed with banana. You take it 3-4 times a day, watching out for diarrhea from the C. Winnie How do you all cope with hayfever? Vaccinations > Do any of you take anti-histamines or have you found other > solutions? Guest guest
I use a netipot daily that helps with sinus congestion (which can cause puffy eyes and faces). Guest guest
They don't seem to get sinus problems much. The odd sneeze here and there. The major problem is with their eyes. Last year we took one of them to the hospital because we thought he had scratched his eye. Turned out to be viral conjunctivitis related to the hay fever. This year we haven't bothered to see anyone as we know what we are dealing with. Just need something other than antihistamines to deal with the problem. The GP prescribed cetirizine (zyrtec) last year but I'd like to get them of the meds. I'll check the health food shop tomorrow but the quercetin tabs I have for myself are too large for the kids to swallow. Guest guest
I've always gotten quercetin in gelcaps, but you still need to be able to swallow pills.(If they like Sweet-tarts, they'll like the quercetin mixed in bananas/applesauce). I used homeopathy to cure an extremely allergic cat of her food allergies. It got really bad before it got better, but it worked. Winnie Re: How do you all cope with hayfever? Guest guest
I have very bad hayfever. I keep it at bay with a liquid homeopathic remedy made by Nova Homeopathics. Here's their website: http://www.novahomeopathic.com/remedies.html Homeopath remedies don't work the same for everyone though, so your best bet would be to take your kiddos to a homeopath so they can get the remedies that would help them specifically.
