Guest guest
Hi all, I've been away from the list for ages, first due to a short holiday, then had explant done 2 days ago. I missed you guys ! The explant went unbelievably well. I checked into hospital at 6:30 am ), was done at 11 am, and drove home 3 hours later. I even cooked supper ! Apart from some pain on the night of the op and a bit the next day, I've felt incredibly good ! I only took 2 painkillers that evening, nothing else ! I'm amazed at how capable the body is of handling GA, and the surgery ! My PS found both implants were leaking silicone, and the left one was starting to harden. Capsules have been sent for pathology. I had used a lot of hypnosis to minimise bleeding/inflammation etc., so I didn't need drains as they were uneccessary. Yesterday I removed the bandages as instructed by my PS, and replaced it with a bra. I was bemused to find that a 36 A is a tad too big ( I was a full 36 B with implants). My boobies are small, cute, and I LOVE them ! They're MINE !! My upper body reminds me of that of an adolescent girl ! I will probably use falsies to avoid curious stares and questions from clients and aquaintances, and also to balance my figure out somewhat, but I am SOOO glad I've had the implants removed !!! Waaayy deep down in my soul I just KNOW this was the right thing for me to do ! My body feels like a long-lost friend I've found again, I don't feel that funny, bloated feeling anymore ! I even slept on my side last night ! My DH happily toddled off on a weekend to the coast ( I love the man dearly, but I don;t think he thought it through when he planned the trip to be a day after my op), but I am quite glad I have the house all to myself ! I've been doing some art work, walked my doggies, even visited my horse today ( no riding tho). I don't know if I'm just on some sort of post-op high, but I feel incredible ! I have energy, and feel hugely positive, much more so than before the op. I have to go have stitches out a week from now. I also have an appt with the Dermie to check a funny lesion I've had on my leg which won't heal (6 months !). I want him to check it for cancer, and have some other funny moles removed and checked, just in case. If there are any girls on the list here pondering whether to have explant, I can only say that for me, thus far, it has been great ! It's sooo nice to feel energised again ! I can even imagine myself going back to gym once I'm all healed up, a though that would have had me moaning in misery a few weeks ago. I will start chelation therapy in 2 weeks, as well as some hyperbaric. I've also been helping my liver along with some supps. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before my hair stops falling out, and what other improvements will happen. Nice to be back with you all ! Guest guest
Fiona, Excellent report. so glad you're doing so wonderfully. My surgery was extremely painful and I ended up in hospital overnight and had to get an ambulance home. Do you not have fibromyalgia, I wonder if that makes it harder to endure pain. I'm pretty sure it dose. Did you drive yourself? Heaven for bid no. I'm so glad you have so much energy. How long did you have silicone implants? I had mine 15 years. Hugs and get better real soon. Isn't it great to be able to focus on recovery now? Fiona Parkinson <fionap@...> wrote: Hi all, I've been away from the list for ages, first due to a short holiday, then had explant done 2 days ago. Guest guest
, I'm sorry you had so much pain, girl ! I'm sure the fibro WOULD make it harder. I was rx'd with fibro about 4 years ago, but it seems to have gone away on it's own. Before explant I was hassled with muscle/joint pains occassionally, but have not had any for about 2 weeks now. I'm a stubborn old goat, just refused to believe the DR's rx, refused to honor the aches and pains by giving it a name, like Fibro....cutting out sugar made a huge difference for me. Yes, I drove myself home, (actually, the doctor doesn't know, she forbade me to drive, but I could feel that I could manage, and to be safe, I drove slower than usual, not that it was really necessary). My DH has very little vision, so he can't drive, would have had to send 2 people in 2 sep cars toc ome fetch me, then go back and fetch him and drop off 2nd driver...ughh ! I had my silicone for 10 years, and yes, it feels wonderful to be getting on with my life now ! I wish you, and everyone on this list, as much blessing and energy as I have been given, you all deserve a great life ! I aim to help others as Patty, Rogene, you and all the other wonderful women here have helped me, no-one deserves to be sick like this ! Much love, Fiona ( I feeeel gooood, ta-dah-dah-dah ! So good !) Fiona, Excellent report. so glad you're doing so wonderfully. My surgery was extremely painful and I ended up in hospital overnight and had to get an ambulance home. How long did you have those silicones before you got ill? My sister has them and it has been 1 year and she is fine so far. Just curious. Anyhow I am happy that you have found such improvement in your health already, that is amazing and wonderful. Guest guest
, I had mine for 10 years, started getting ill very gradually about 4 years ago. It was so subtle I never realised I was ill...just a general feeling of "slowing down" ( put it down to getting older , NOT !), odd aches here and there that seemed to move around my body, a gradual weight gain ( "It must be because I'm not as active as before, and I am getting older" NOT !). I really struggled with myself ITO of constantly berating myself for being such a lazy slob, never want to go to gym, or walk too far.....only later I realised that, on days I did feel better, i did those things easily because I COULD if I had the energy !! DUH !! Been beating myself up for nothing ! Now I roll with the punches: when I feel strong, I move around as much as I can, when I feel exhausted, I just go with it and let my body tell me what it wants to do. Our bodies were MADE for movement, and to take pleasure in running around etc. I have experienced this for myself, I am really beginning to think our long held judgements about so-called "lazy people" may be way off the mark . Rather than being a result of slothfullness, I strongly suspect there is a MAJOR biochemical cause for a person's lack of drive, physically and mentally. I have noticed here in Africa that rural black folk are generally a lot skinnier (too thin sometimes) than their urban counterparts, but they are a LOT more active and healthy, in spite of their diet being less than ideal. Urbanites living off the fat of the land, so to speak, are mostly obese, slow, and sickly.... I'm trying to find my way back to nature through my diet, and I believe the quantities of food we are eating is far too much, as well as the quality/type being off the mark. I always feel better when I eat a lot less...Sorry to have rattled on so, hope this info sparks off something for someone else here..... My sister too has silicone implants, has had them for 8 years, and has a host of problems but won't acknowledge the scary truth just yet. Good luck to your sister, and your efforts to open her eyes, girl ! Fiona
Guest guest
Fiona I have some of my own opinions too though on working out and laziness. I see the women I work with in the hospital here in Idaho and they will do anything to lose wieght, inculding have the gastric bypass surgery, but they do not want to work out. I invite them over to use my equiptment and they still never do. I think it is sad that some people just cannot get themselves into it, but I don't really believe it is health I believe in many it is motivation, heck I worked out even with implants even with illness I never gave it up, it was harder to do, but I found ways and was always making sure I never gained any weight. I had been heavy for a period of time and once I lost that weight about 7 years ago I promised myself NEVER TO GAIN IT BACK, i would rather die than be overweight again. I refuse to put my body through that hell of gaining and losing one more time. So while there may be a 5 pound up and down in my life, never more than that EVER. It is not so hard to do. I eat what I want most of the time, in moderation, I refuse to give up things entirely and if I want to enjoy a piece of birthday cake or something I am not going to give those things up. To me food is part of life and living and you have to enjoy life ya know? But on the other hand I don't want to over do it on junk either, so there is always going to be a happy medium I guess that you just have to find and stick with it. I was 21% body fat when I got married and weighed 127 not bad, but not as good as I wanted to be, so I started lifting more weights and got down to 19% body fat and 120 pounds. I am small though, most people think I weigh less than 120 and I wear small sizes like a 2 or 3 most of the time. Some 4's and 5's too it all depends but the point is that I like to be around 120. I am not sure if I could get lower than that and still have my muscle ya know. Anyhow that is my story as far as diet and wieght go. I am glad that your feeling better and that your doing things to be more active. I really believe that my level of activity has so much to do with my health being better.
