Guest guest
Our son, , has his 15 mo check this monday....we have held off on all vaccinations.... Even though our Ped doesn't really say much, they always give us the " we have to inform you because we are medical professionals " speech on how vaccinations are mercury free, safe, wonderful...etc..........we always listen and politely say, " we are holding off for now " ....is there another way to cut them to the chase so we don't even have to listen to the speech?.....Do they really have to inform us, or is that just what they say to hopefully change our minds? The only thing that came to mind was saying " as a parent, we are not vaccinating currently, so we can stop this discussion now " ....or something like that....but I don't want to be rude or have an uncomfortable visit. Reason I want to go to this appt Dr. is supposed to check his cognitive/social developmental..... Any helpful dialogue will be appreciated. Thanks so much, , (15 mo), Ben (dh)
Guest guest
I love my kids doctor, whom is also holistic, which I couldn't recommend any higher... That said - he does NOT stock vaccines in his office - he doesn't even give them - but... during one of my appointments with my son - he said he's due for... " whatever shot it was " and I'm " required " to let you know that - do you want the shot or not? " Me: " NOT! " He chuckles says okay and we move on. It's funny because he doesn't even carry them in his office, so I assume at various times of the " recommended schedule " they're " required " to mention it.
