Guest guest
I read the file on this site about Vitamin K (the inj they give newborns)but I will admit it was above my head. Can someone simplify this for me? Yes or no on the Vit K and why? Thank you! My sis in in hospital right now preparing to have baby so if anyone can answer this soon, it would be much appreciated! Guest guest
Very short, nutshell: no d/n do it Not " just vitamins " , and if they were, they'd be fake vitamins which don't get absorbed very well anyway. The shot has aluminum in it and that's needed in a body either. Possible side effect listed is death. is it worth the risk? She has to answer that. She can't discount the nurse staff pooh-poohing the risk b/c when it's you on the 1 in some huge number.. that is NOT comforting at all, I can tell you that. Not that Christian died from vaccine trouble but he was 1 in whatever # of odds for what did happen.it's not worth it. She has to answer for herself Is this worth the risk? If it's not, then stand firm and be firm and advocate for the child who has no voice. That is her parental duty: To stand up for her innocent children. Nita (crew chief) and the crew: 15, Jon 13, 11, 9, 7, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 2 and Isaac, 2/3/08 http://momof6.dotphoto.com <http://momof6.dotphoto.com/> for not necessarily current pictures http://nitasspot.blogspot.com Learn from the mistakes of others. Trust me... you can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
Guest guest
Basically, from what i understand: Vit. K shot is not necessary unless the following happens: Risk Factors for Cerebral Hemorrhage: Precipitous Labor Prolonged Labor Significant Fetal Head Molding Birth Trauma Forceps Delivery Vacuum Extraction Variable Heart Decelerations in Late Labor Circumcision i already know i'm having a boy, and not doing 'circ' until later on, after vit. k has peaked on it's own. he will be getting it from me through breastmilk anyway... so unless it's a prolonged labor, c- section, or his head is " cone shaped " he won't be getting it. > > I read the file on this site about Vitamin K (the inj they give > newborns)but I will admit it was above my head. Guest guest
I just got our oral vitamin K from www.birthwithlove.com - I have read this is what they give in Europe instead of the shot. Anyway, it gives me peace of mind and doesn't have any additives, just the vitamin K in olive oil, I believe is the base. Melinda C. in Mass.
