i am at a loss, someone please direct me.

originally i told my very wonderful OB that i don't want the baby getting the

vit. K or the

eye goop, i am due in less than a month with baby #2.

and she said the eye goop is really not necessary, since it's just

eurythromyacin.

but she tried to push teh vit. K shot, and said that she strongly recommends it,

they even

offer it in an oral as well as a shot.

so being as this is a very good and understanding doctor, she is going to elt

the cord

pulse, and no vaccines for the baby, and no intervention, i can labor as long or

short as i

need to. even a birth tub is available.

well, i am wondering could she be right, am i risking my baby's clotting well if

i don't do

the vit k oral or shot?

is there actually any vitamin K in it beside all that other crap?

and can someone please email me some links that i can forward to her, because

she wants

to know where i get my information, she is open to learning.

also, when i told her that if the baby is allowed to have the cord blood pulse

until it stops,

then the baby doesn't need the vit. K and she said that sounds absurd and

doesn't make

any sense at all.

please help.

thanks.

nna,

I had a similar situation- wonderful midwives- supportive nursing staff in the

hospital- they even though I said no vaxes- they said oh the vit k shot is just

vitamins- don't worry- I said ok-

now I am sure my baby had a reaction- that wound up in the NICU for 5 days...

turned blue couldn't breathe- it was awful- after a drug free- natural midwifery

delivery....

I have the story posted somewhere on this group

kellymom.com had some interesting info on the shot- pro and con- wish I had read

about it before that all happened.

Now I am so confused... I just read this article and it states, "

Early onset HDN occurs in the first 24 hours. It is very rare and

mainly associated with mothers who have taken anticonvulsant,

antibiotic, antituberculous or anticoagulant drugs during pregnancy. "

I have had 2 bad bladder infections and ended up on antibiotics twice

now during my pregnancy. I'd rather not hear how horrible the

antibiotics were are on the baby, but rather how much does this

increase his chances of HDN? I was all ready not to give the Vitamin

K shot but now I am right back on the fence.
