International Training Programme on Surveillance, Monitoring &

Evaluation of HIV/AIDS Programmesurveillance, Monitoring & Evaluation

of HIV/AIDS Programmes. December 15-20, 2003

OBJECTIVES

The broad objective of this training programme is to strengthen the

technical and managerial capabilities of participants in mapping,

surveillance, monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programme . It

will also strive to build capabilities to employ information for

programme management. More specifically, it will focus on the

following issues:

· Epidemiology of HIV

· Mapping of high risk behaviour population groups using

primary and secondary data

· Methods for HIV surveillance

Ø biological surveillance

Ø behavioural surveillance

· Evaluation of HIV/AIDS programmes

· Employing information for management of programme

PARTICIPANTS

The programme is designed for planners, programme managers and

researchers in organisations, institutions and NGOs involved in the

management of HIV/AIDS at the district, state and national levels.

VENUE

The programme will be held at the Institute campus in Jaipur, during

Dec.15-20,2003. Jaipur, also known as the Pink City is a popular

tourist destination in India. It is famous for its forts, palaces,

jewellery, garments and a rich and colourful culture.

During the month of December the weather is cold with temperature

ranging between 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.

FEE

The course fee will be Rs. 12,000/- for Indian participants and US

$600/- for international participants. This covers charges for board

and lodging and course material. The participants/sponsoring

agencies will have to bear the travel expenses to and from Jaipur.

The nomination form could be downloaded from the IIHMR website

(www.iihmr.org). The last date of submission of the form is 30th

November, 2003.
