I can say that I've been online since '96 and that I don't use a virus checker and not once have I ever gotten a virus. Call me fearless I guess but I try to not be at sites or downloading things that might give me a virus.

Where did you happen to find this information? Thanks, in LA AIH 99' The easiest way I know is to use a search engine. My favorite is the Google search engine. (To get into Google, just enter Google.com in your search bar.) Then, on the Google page, type in the words you want to know about -- for example, "Metabolife autoimmune hepatitis." (Don't use the quotation marks, ""; I used them only for clarity.) Google will show you a long list of sites; read the ones that seem the most appropriate. Let me know if you have any difficulty. Guest guest
Just to note that it isn't only Metabolite...if is a common factor in many diet aids, I believe it is the Ephedrine, but have not had a chance to really research it. I never took Meabolite..nor my daughter...but there are several diet aids that share ingredients. I think there is a lot we don't know about many of these herbal drugs...and they are drugs! We, of course shouldn't be taking any of these things, but how many of us know someone that is? Better safe than sorry, wouldn't we all rather have had this lie dormant for the rest of our lives? On a brighter note...has anyone else noticed that they are having great hair since being on the prednisone? It is the only good side effect I have found lol My daughter and I just marvel at the thick rich hair we are growing...lol by the way if you are growing this on your face or the palms of your hands...um that isn't what I meant Peggy/ AI?/

Guest guest
Lori when you signed up for this group you had the option of how to select to read the group, we do not cram these emails down anyones throat ever. We can take you off the list, but your also able to do that yourself and decide how you want to read the group. I prefer not to get any email either and use the group on the net to read. If you don't want to make this decision yourself then Patty or I can remove you happily. let us know. But remember that we are only doing what you specified. It's a definite deficiency in our system. What would ultimately be the best is to have more of these alternative plans covered under medical insurance. AND for these various alternative areas of expertise to ALL be part of the medical team at a hospital. I think this will happen over time, but slowly. It would be great the food at a hospital was all organic and a specific diet just for my disease given to me. Or at LEAST a nutrionist at the hospital truly educate me on how to eat to beat my disease. Or a homeopathy doctor prescribe to me herbs/vitamins while in/out of the hospital . AND it be covered by my insurance. Instead, I'm paying about $400/month out of pocket for all the special food, herbs and vitamins to help me fight my disease. .. .. >>>> Many MD and DOs have taken extra study in complementary/alternative medicines. Our family physician is cross trained in Medical Homeopathy, Her spouse, an MD is cross trained in acupuncture, TCM and orthomolecular medicine. Our cardiologist will recommend alternatives to drugs. My rhuematologist finally got me some return of function by recommending certain supplements rather than drugs. Many cancer centers now do offer nutrition counseling and other supports. By the way, Homeopathic physicians DO NOT recommend herbs/vitamins..... they prescribe homeopathic medicines which are quite different. And, I got a first class education in nutrition and supplementation from my childhood allergist, an MD, who saved my life more than once. Our preference is to use natural substances, including food, to help our bodies get back into order. However, sometimes in life threatening siutations, that is not possible. mjh http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
