Guest guest
BJ, The hardness is due to capsular contracture, the scar tissue that has built up around the implant. The gel itself does not get hard so of course they could be leaking even though they are hard. I would venture to say that it would be more surprising if they were not leaking just because they have been in for soooo long...do they feel smaller??? My salines were leaking and I just " knew. " I could feel some sloshing and some rippling at the end and I was itching and finally developed a rash. Silicone especially can leak very very slowly. Ann > Just a quick question................for the longest time my silicone > implants felt like hard rocks, and still do although they now feel like small hard > pepples.....is it possible that being hard they still leak and if so what are > they leaking if it has turned hard like that....sorry i feel so stupid asking > this but i am just not sure and its only lately that i noticed this and these > have been in me more than 20 years??????thanks love BJ

I very much doubt that youcould handle a detox program involving sweating orexercise right now . . . but start small and graduallywork up to it.The idea is that you want to flush as much siliconefrom your body as quickly as possible. And you want toget rid of the bad organisms (yeast/Candida/fungus)that take hold when ones immune system is suppressedwhile replacing the beneficial organisms that havebeen eliminated. Our bodies have incredible recuperative powers! But wehave to give it what it needs to rebuild! It takestime and a lot of discipline . . . and, when you feelso bad, it feel overwhelming. BUT, the payoff istremendous! You can get yourself back! And you canenjoy life and your family again!Hugs and prayers,Rogene Rogene, thank you so much..........i had to laugh when you said drink 1/2 ounce for every pound of body weight and i was like geez i will be drinking a river.....well at least i have my sense of humor still but after reading this i know its reality but boy its so overwhelming....just the thought of this is like wow...........now Rogene did you have silicone too????Doctors get it they just don't care, they don't want to pick up pieces left from another doctor its like they would be betraying each other if they did....right now i am experiencing a very weird feeling on my face the left side and i refuse to go to the doctors because i don't want to see that look like here she is again......my face feels almost like the feeling when pins and needles disappear, a weird funny feeling don't know what it is but it sure feels funny..........well let me know about you as well and hopfully you can help me threw this horrible nightmare......love to ya BJ

It would not be unheard of for there to bemore than one capsule inside of you, because littleglobs of silicone that leak could also be "walled off"individually. Make sure you try to somehow get thischecked out to rule out other things, but with themhaving been inside of you more than 20 years, you'vegot a good chance of ruptured and leaking implants andloose silicone.Patty Patty, Lets say they are leaking, where is this stuff going????does it calcify on my organs??does it just go threw the blood stream???this is just to much for me to comprehend.....how would i go about getting it checked out and what am i asking them to check?????how would they check them, i know recently i had an echocardiogram done and the guy said he saw my implants and i saw it too but its a big blur to me and to him and he said he couldn't tell if they were leaking or anything...so what next....love ya BJ

Guest guest
BJ, I am sorry that you are so scared and that you are not ready yet, but you have to ask yourself what are they doing for you? Nothing I am sure. They are just making you sick, especially if they are leaking. You should be more scared of leaving them in than taking them out. Have you figured out a way to pay for the surgery? I know you were trying to see if Medicare or SS would pay. I borrowed the money from my IRA. I can tell you that I had very little pain with the removal. Nothing like the implant surgery and the recovery was very easy. Anyway, mine are out one month and I am so happy that they are gone. I still itch a bit sometimes, but I can control it with benadryl. the rash came up about 2 months prior to explant and even the dermatologist agreed it was from the implants because they were leaking. It feels great not to have heavy hard breasts. I got a lift with my explant and I am very happy about that because it is like having new boobs! No sagging or anything (for now until I get a little older I'm sure they will go south)which really helped with the transition. I have not regretted my decision for even one single second. Please understand that I do not feel better physically as none of my symptoms are gone, but I do feel much better with those bags gone without the heavyness and hardness and knowing they were leaking was making me CRAZY!!!! They were saline textured and I had them for 7 years. I got sick in 2001. They are calling undifferentiated connective tissue disease, but my doc thinks it is developing into lupus and vasculitis. I also had a TERRIBLE bout with hypoglycemia in 1999, but I went to a nutritionist (after the docs wrote me off to getting diabetes) and cut out much of the suger and simple carbs I was eating and I feel much better in that area. Please answer, why aren't you ready? What are you afraid of? Thanks. I wish you well BJ, Ann > In a message dated 4/26/2004 11:24:12 PM Eastern Standard Time, > nantynannie@y... writes: > BJ, > > The hardness is due to capsular contracture, the scar tissue that has > built up around the implant. Guest guest
BJ, Just to let you know, I also get this numbness pins and needles feeling everywhere and on my face and lips and nose. Have you found a good Lupus doc? Having that verified condition you should not have to put up with them treating you poorly. A good rheumy would understand and sympathize with your symptoms. Maybe someone here can recommend one in your area. Please don't get me wrong, many of us are treated like crap by these docs, but if you have a verified diagnosis, you should be treated better than that. Good luck, PS You know the facial numbness could possibly have to do with an injury to your spine and I know you had back surgery. I have a bad disk and bone spur at C6-C7, but they keep telling me that the face numbess is more a brain/cranial nerve thing. Also, my pupils are two different sizes sometimes due to inflammation of the eyeball nerve. Just some ideas for you. I really feel doubtful about that! Silicone Ya know Patty it is more than frustrating especially since the beginning i specifically ask the doctor are these things safe.....and he said yes most definitely.....i never new it was the implants that i was getting sick from isn't that a kick in the head....if i had known it was the slightest bit dangerous i never would of done this....believe it or not i should of know from day one when the right one got infected...and right after surgery back then i had to go home with a special tight bra on, it was so tight i felt like it was cutting off my circulation but that is basically how it was done to most back then.... i found out that my implant shells is made by Bristol and the silicone is made by Dow......they said i settled with Bristol for something like 5,000.00 and the lawyer got a third...which left me with what lol lol lol lol now i believe i am part of dow....i honestly believe it is the silicone that is making me sick....or should i say the lack of silicone in my breasts.....i hate going threw all this and eventually i will have something done about it....its just so much has been going on....first the really bad flood....that took us quite some time to recover from a lot of damage and loss.....then my daughter who was only 18 at the time got pregnant but she is married now and has another then 9/11 which my sister in law died in...May God rest her soul, we never recovered her body..she was in the world trade center first building 92 ND floor, the bills have been mounting up...so in due time i think things should be squared away and i can do something only thing is i have to find a good doctor, one that believes these are connected, and hopfully one of you will live close enough by where i go for counceling lol lol and i will be all set.....i think...thanks for the help i really appreciate everything...love ya all BJ
