(PTI): Two men from Hyderabad, who claimed to have invented a herbal medicine for treating people suffering from HIV/AIDS, have approached the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the Centre, Central Council for Research in Ayurveda a nd Siddha, Drug Controller of India and Indian Council for Medical Research for constituting a committee to test the efficacy of their medicine. Petitioners - A M Krishna and C H Bhoomeshwat - requested the Court to ask the Andhra Pradesh Health Secretary and the Commissioner, Indian Medicines and Homeopathy Department of the State Government to grant temporary licence to them, as in case of M/S Bathina Brothers - the suppliers of fish medicine for Asthma cure, so as to enable them provide their medicine to HIV/AIDS patients. The petitioners urged the Court to direct the respondents to set up a Committee under its supervision to test the efficacy of their medicine - " Immuno Herbal Sanjeevani " . Justice B D Ahmed posted the matter for December 18 after Centre's counsel Jayant Sud sought time to respond to the petition. Earlier, the Court had in December last dismissed their petition with the direction to the drug licencing authority to examine their claim and pass appropriate orders.
