Guest guest
I wore a jogging suit to and from the outpatient surgical facility. May I ask why you are asking what we wore? Barby
Guest guest
Amy, Sorry I didnt realize you were having surgery, I thought you were asking maybe to try to figure out if what we wore could some how have contributed to our illness. Guest guest
Ladies, Our lives are complicated enough, don't you all get upset over this, there is nothing we can do or say to stop anyone pretty much from doing something they are head strong on doing....we have to realize we can't fight and win every war....and that some just have to do and learn for themselves.......Dow has to pay out millions of women on this issue and if that is not enough to make a women sit down and really think then there is nothing more we can say or do.....we all tried and i won't allow myself to feel guilty about this, i only wish myself i had someone like most of you ladies here to stop me before i did it because i would of given it no second thoughts...it is obvious she had her mind made up before she even got here......i only pray she doesn't get sick.......and i sincerely mean that...love ya all BJ

Guest guest
Amy, What happened with the whole UTI thing? Did he postpone it? Also, he should have the right bra for you to wear after surgery. Anyway, wear a zip up or button up top with loose fitting sweats or pj bottoms and slip on shoes with socks. I am still hoping that you don't go through with this. Did you find the information you were looking for? Ann > > Re: Re: I am new here - introWhen most of you went > to the hospital to have breast enlargements...what did you wear to > and from? Guest guest
Amy, Please understand that none of us here want to harrass you either, it gets very emotional here sometimes. Did you read the post about one of the girls whose future daughter in law is going to get implants? Well her son got mad at her when she tried to warn them so she said, " If you saw your friend about to walk through a mine field, would you warn him? " Well of course you would! And imagine the hurt and frustration and anger you would feel if he just kept on walking and there was nothing you could do to stop him! That is all we are trying to do and it is very frustrating that we cannot stop you from making this mistake. It is especially madening that none of us had any of this info prior to our surgeries so we have a hard time understanding why someone with the info would do it anyway. Well whatever your decision I wish you the best... On another note, are you saying that they are not going to do any blood work on you prior to surgery? Also, did you read on Mentor/Mcghan website that even the manufacturer does not recommend implants for anyone with autoimmune disease? I am pretty sure that you mentioned that you had Chron's? Again, I am NOT trying to harrass you, just trying to save you from making a mistake. Take care, Ann > > > Re: Re: I am new here - introWhen most of you > went > > to the hospital to have breast enlargements...what did you wear > to > > and from? Guest guest
Amy, Yes I had the surgery and I was just fine for a few years, then I got sick. No, I was not happy, they were too large and did not exactly match one another as far as how they settled (most don't look perfect). I wore some sexy clothes initially, but then I became uncomfortable with how I looked with huge boobs. At the risk of angering some of the women here, I am not certain that my implants CAUSED my illenss, but I am certain that they did not belong in my body and were causing an immune response from my body which was at the very least aggravating my system. I realized that even if there was a .0005% chance that they either caused or were contributing to my illness, then they HAD TO GO!!! If I had known about the risk of connective tissue disease I certainly would not have gotten them. That risk is now noted in the brochure. It was not there when I got implants Of course, my skin was so stretched out from the implants that I needed a lift. Also, they were leaking toward the end and I got very (CRAZY) itchy and had a terrible rash from the contaminated saline. These things are gross and they do not last forever. If I had known the truth about how the saline passes through the shell and exchanges with bodily fluid I would have never done this. They try to say it is a " closed " system, but that is not the truth. Also, I had textured implants and apparently the shell can shed silicone into the body. Keep thinking about the info from the manufacturer. Even they admit that some silicone might leak into breast milk, well obviously that means it can leak into your body!!! Please read about the risks of the surgery and the high probability of a second or third surgery to correct the first one. Also, go into this knowing that you might be very unhappy with the results and even if you don't get more sick than you already are, you might hate them anyway. Also know that once they are in, your breasts will never be the same. On another note I am concerned about this doc that he is not doing bloodwork before the surgery and that he is sending you out for a bra, etc. Have you researched his credentials? They are all liars, but some are better surgeons than others and some take great care to avoid infection and complications. Good luck, Ann > > > Re: Re: I am new here - introWhen most of you > went > > to the hospital to have breast enlargements...what did you wear > to > > and from? Guest guest
No, a doctor put me on Bactrim. I've been taking that. When the nurse from the surgery center called...she asked me lots of medical questions and said I didnt need to have any workup done. I figured they would do that regardless. I figure it will be gone by the time of the surgery. Guest guest
Amy, that should be another clue for you! any good surgeron will have special support bras for you to wear at least two to three weeks post op to keep the implants in place and for support. I would check this guy out or at least ask more questions as to why he doesnt provide a medical garment. My PS had a closet full of support garments for me to try on prior to implant and the same happened when I was explanted. Guest guest
Amy, I have been thinking about this, and talked with my good friend, and we both think that God did answer you. He sent you to this group to find out the real truths. It is kind of like the man in the flood who refused to go when a boat came for him, even though he was sitting on his roof and the house could float away. He told them God would take care of him. Again a boat tried to get him off, and he declined, saying God would take care of him. A helicopter came to resue him, and again he declined. Then he asked God why he had not come to save him as the home floated away. God said " I sent you two boats and a helicopter, What more could you want? " We are the boats and the helicopter, and we are God's message to you. Lynda At 08:10 PM 4/27/2004, you wrote: >Bloodwork?
