Guest guest
I'm speaking with the surgeon who put in my implants on May 14th so I'm hoping that is productive in some way. He does do explants but I'm not certain he is the right choice for me yet, I've not seen any of his explant work, etc. I did communicate with three other PSs, including Dr. Melmed and all advise me to wait until I'm not breastfeeding. Operating on a lactating woman isn't really what surgeons want to do, that I've learned so far. I've asked about removal via a trans axillary incision but no one really wants to do that either, of course. :-) With the thin silicone capsule, it's hard enough going through a periaurola incision but all the way at the armpit would be really difficult. So that's out. From what the surgeons say, I could have an incision at the crease under the breast and the implant removed that way which would mean no breastfeeding for several days but at least would leave the nipple alone. And then the compression garment would probably further delay nursing. I had a bunch of memories come back last night. I remembered that I've had arthritis type symptoms all the way back into my college years. Sitting through a movie or a play in a threatre was really torturous as my knees would ache so much. Flying in a airplane was the same way. Then I was dx'd with repetitive strain injury for my job and had to do physical therapy for that. So I've had all sorts of weaknesses in my joints and connective tissues for at least ten years. Just thought I'd share what I've learned so far. I've emailed Dr. Kolb with my specific concerns, also interested in whether she follows her protocol since she has salines and maybe the protocol could be used as a guard against silicone disease. I should think that if she thought she should have her salines removed in case she is having silicone leached into her body, she would have them out, yes? PS. I ordered a few things from primaldefense.net. Thank you for the link!
