Guest guest
Request for information: HIV positive children As part of ActionAid's forthcoming work on HIV/AIDS and education, I am researching a piece on the education of children living with HIV. Very broadly, I am examining whether country policies exist that protect the educational rights of HIV positive children. What challenges exist for teachers and schools in meeting the needs of these children? What difficulties are HIV positive children facing in schools? Are they are fully integrated into schools, or do they suffer exclusion and discrimination? The study will focus on Thailand and Britain. However, it will also draw cases studies from a number of other countries. I would be very grateful for any assistance in this work - welcoming any information about NGOs that deal with this issue, literature on the subject, or case studies on HIV+ children and their place in the education system.
