Guest guest
- Kacey Thanks for putting so much time and effort to advance our cause. Please be careful not to overdo. Stress can take a big toll on your health. It concerns me that you were in alot of pain at the dinner. How are you feeling now? Take care of yourself. Stay strong... mentally & physically, you have a lot going on! If you need my help w/ anything just let me know. Crystal Back from NY media luncheon w/ Dr. Melmed Hi all,I know I don't answer everyone all the time, but I do read your posts to me and I greatly appreciate them! You are all wonderful, wonderful women! Also, I wanted to let you know that I receive hundreds of emails and I refer many of these women to this site for more support and encouragement.Okay, so for the latest updates with media stuff:In New York, the National Center for Policy Research for Women and Families (this is the organization that Dr. Diane Zuckerman heads up) held it's annual media luncheon. The topic was on "Dangerous Medicine" and I was in the company of amazingly intelligent people! Among the speakers was Dr. Melmed, I, and a woman who was on the FDA advisory pannel committe for silicone gel implants....she voted NOT to approve them. Basically, the message of the lucheon was that silicone implants of any kind, can cause bad results. The media (there was about 20 different people there all from different magazines/newspapers) was extremely receptive to my story (and everyone else's) and my MTV video, which they played before I began my speech. I truly believe that everyone was impacted by my prescence, as I was in tremendous pain that day, and the reporter from Newsday even cut my chicken for me, as I was not able to do it myself.I was honored and excited to be able to be a part of this, and I look forward to every opportunity to share my story that will come out of this.I just wanted to let you all know the latest with our issue :)Take care everyone!Kacey
Guest guest
That luncheon sounds awesome!! What did Dr. Melmed talk about? He sounds like such a fantastic advocate for women like us. He's one of the plastic surgeons who has told me to keep on keeping on with the breastfeeding and I so appreciate his knowledge and expertise. I feel very sad reading that you couldn't cut your chicken, Kacey. My prayers for your healing are with you. --- In , " kaceybu02 " <kaceyalong@h...> wrote: > Hi all, > > I know I don't answer everyone all the time, but I do read your > posts to me and I greatly appreciate them!
