Guest guest
Grace, Can you please share with us the times of the day that you eat. Maybe we can all help develop a schedule for you. I eat every 2.5 -3 hours and find that I'm famished if I go any longer than 3.5 hours. I eat my last meal 30 minutes before bed and it usually consists of cottage cheese with yogurt. ----- Could you please tell > me some idea how to eat six times in very small > portions and that is easy to make. Besides the Myoplex > I can only have them twice the most and I can't make > myself eat three times. One more thing is it okay to > do the upper body and the lower body at the same time? I believe the first time you try this, you'll be laid up for days. (We did this for WishLift http://www.wishlift.org and it took me days to recover. If you reach your 10's you'll be exhausted. BFL isn't circuit training. It's designed to challenge the muscles, give them time to recover, and to grow. > Is it okay to also do cardio six times a week instead > of three? Depends on what kind of cardio you want to do. Are we talking high intense, medium, or low intensity? If you do too much cardio, you're setting yourself up for overtraining and you'll be burning muscle not fat. Glenda
Guest guest
Grace, I know what you mean about the stomach shrinking, but it is important to eat six not meals...even if you have to decrease the size of them a little or change the type of food you eat. Do you by chance eat alot of rice, pasta, or bread for your carbos? If so, try switching to fruit. I've found that the fruit digests a lot quicker so your stomach empties before the next meal (I eat about every 2.5- 3.0 hours and I struggled for awhile). The extra fiber and antioxidents are a bonus too! My favorite meal is fat free cottage cheese mixed with natural apple sauce sprinkled with cinnamon and Equal. Its easy. portable, and no need to cook. I too had to add extra cardio, but I do the HIIT 3 times a week and then longer, moderate intensity cardio on the other 2-3 days. DON'T train intensely more than the 3 days...you risk getting sick, hurt, or burned out. I hope I could help. Have a nice weekend...Tobie

Guest guest
I believe most on this forum do not vaccinate their children. I have two boys and a brand new baby, they are not vaccinated. I don't worry about them contracting anything because they are not vaccinated. They are building their own immunity. If your child catches a cold, that's ok; it assists in developing her immunity. Keeping her sheltered is probably not the answer for her or for your own sanity. I take my infant everywhere with me. The probability of her catching polio, meningitis, hepatitis is miniscule. You have a right to be scared. With all of the scare tactics used by doctors, the media, pharma companies, schools, etc. and not having done the research, I would be afraid. Once you have done your research, you will be at ease. I would suggest finding a new doctor who is supportive of your decision to delay/selective/or not vax your child. If they are giving you problems now, just wait. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that all doctors treat regardless of a parents decision to vaccinate. However, there is a trend of kicking parents out of practices for not complying to the schedule (even though it may not be required by law). There are supportive peds out there, they are just a little harder to find. Good luck with your decision. You will get ample support on this forum. > > My daughter is almost 7 months old and I have not started her vaccines, nor do I think that I want to. Guest guest
That is their scare tactic, they will do that in order to play on your nerves! I have a 15 yr old and a 12 yr old. The 12 yr old has had no vaccines, and he has always been in the 'mainstream' and he is healthier than my 15 yr old. The 15 yr old I was bullied into vaccines, saying I would be in neglect if I didn't. Well after joining the NVIC and then this group, 14 years ago, it has been easy to NOT vaccinate! I did not stay at home, we went to parks, we went everywhere other kids went. The doctors just use that to scare you, and when they are little like that it will bother you, but the vaccines will harm them more than the diseases will, and those diseases they talk about are almost non-existant, the damages that the vaccines do add up to much more than the so called 'outbreaks' they are talking about. For example the measles outbreak, is what 30? The Gardisil vaccine has killed at least that many and damages almost TEN THOUSAND! Now which is worse? How many of those kids with measles already had their shots? Hmm. They will get sick from time to time, well mine have, some in this group have better diets and their kids never get sick! Change doctors, and don't let him scare or bully you any more. Good luck, Western NY I need some advice please! My daughter is almost 7 months old and I have not started her vaccines, nor do I think that I want to. Her pediatrician has made me feel like she will get a horrible disease and die if I do not vaccinate her. I have been so scared that she will catch something that I have been staying home, not taking her out in public unless I have to. I am trying to get her into a holistic pediatrician but the waiting lists in my area are very long.. I really need some advise and support about my daughter's health. I am so worried that she will get sick because she has not had any vaccines. (Her doctor has really scared me) Please help!!!! Thanks! Guest guest
I would not worry too much. My 21 month old did not have 1 vaccine and his two older brothers are school aged. Are you breastfeeding? I know that helps with immunity.I went through this when my 2 yr old got his shots. He was vaccine damaged. They are 11 months apart and after watching the way he reacted with vaccines I said NO WAY for my youngest. He has been THEE healthiest of my 4 children. Good Luck!! I need some advice please! Guest guest
We switched to a family doctor. He has never pressured me to vax my kids. If you choose to stay with this ped, you could just tell him you don't vax due to religious reasons and don't wish to discuss it further. Guest guest
Liz, The docs will do that. I have 2 kids who have received ZERO vaccines, no eye goop, no vitamin k - nothing. They have had a cold or two, and we had a stomach virus go thru the house once. That's it! My advice: 1. Get a different doc, if possible. Hopefully one that's more supportive. Perhaps a GP rather than a ped. 2. Don't go to well baby checks. They use those opportunities to vax or scare you into vaxing. 3. Breastfeed as long as possible. 4. Educate yourself. Sherri does an online class on the different diseases, how to recognize them, what they are, how to treat them, etc. 5. Remember that we didn't have all these vaxes when we were kids (at least I didn't) and I didn't have all these diseases. Nor did anyone I know. I never heard of anyone I know having meningitis. But, with the meningitis vaccine, you have an increased chance of getting meningitis in the week following the vax. Hope this helps! Hang in there. I used to be scared too. It's hard when you first find out about the dangers of vaxing. If you're like me, you always assumed they are safe, necessary, and would keep you healthy. Then you find out that may not be true. The more and more you read, you'll be convinced you don't want that garbage in your babies. And the more you educate yourself and talk to like-minded people (on this website if nothing else), the more confident you'll feel in your decision. And take that baby w/you wherever you go! Your baby will be fine! > > My daughter is almost 7 months old and I have not started her vaccines, nor do I think that I want to. Guest guest
Please don't feel like you have to live this way. I have 5 kids. The youngest is 15 months old. Other than being checked by the midwives at about 6-8 weeks old, He's never been to the Dr. He's very healthy. Dr's are for the sick and afflicted. I'm hoping to find a decent Dr. in our area. I take my baby every where. We go shopping. Park days. Gets picked up by kids. He has only had one earache when he was really teething and he's having his second runny nose. In our house we believe in washing hands and wiping things down but we are not uptight and use anti bacterial products and spray everthing down like those lysol commercials. To be honest I'm sure my kids wash their hands less than what Dr's recommend. Boys will be boys, but we do encourage hand washing especially before preparing foods. Point is the kids I know that aren't vaccinated or very few vaccines are a lot healthier than the ones that are. I can deal with the germs out and about and the little colds here and there vs the long term problems caused by vaccines. Don't forget that kids need at least 10-15 minutes of Vitamin D sunlight from the sun. My son is so fair that I have to be careful when I take him out but the good ole outdoors/fresh air is so important for our health.
