venting on HPV vaccine

I am so frustrated with people who just blindly accept whatever any

supposed authority figure tells them, when it's their child's health

hanging in the balance...

I was just reading an online forum where a mother had been told by her

doctor that her 13 year old HAD to have the HPV vaccine. The mom didn't

want to and had a bad feeling about it, but felt she didn't have a

choice. The doctor also played up that she had already done the first

one, so now she HAS to finish the series.

Most others on the forum were saying things like, " Wow, it's too bad

that it's mandatory and we don't really have a choice. " When did

doctors become God? Have people always trusted doctors this much? I am

younger (27) and my parents certainly trust doctors this much (or did

until I started working on them!)...but has it always been that way?

Off to take some deep breaths...I am so thankful for this group which

educated me so that I can teach others too!

I know what you mean. I'm 23 and my parents took me to the doctor as

a child for EVERYTHING. NO WONDER I WAS SO SICK!

Looking back....the REASONS I was so sick were because of all the

antibiotics, the junky foods, the stress of high school and college,

the drinking, etc. My immune system was SOOOOOOOO screwed up!

After I met my DP, he said he didn't like doctors, he didn't trust

them, etc. and I totally couldn't understnad how ANYONE could be

afraid of doctors and not trust them! He was by far healthier than I

was. No antibiotics for everything, no doctor visits, ect.

Now that I had my DD, I haven't been on an antibiotic in about 2-3

years...and have been only sick ONCE in the past year...and my chiro

adjusted me and my cold went away THE SAME DAY (after being VERY

stuffed up and sick).

It's so hard to watch my family and friends completley trust a system

that is full of lies and MISinformation.

*sigh*

I think I need to go take some deep breathes now too! LOL!
