1 yo having trouble pooping

My 1 yo ds is having trouble pooping. He is eating solid food and drinks a TON

of water, plus

nurses 4-5 times a day. The trouble is that he will grunt and grunt and grunt

and nothing

comes out. I mean red face, bulging eyes, the whole bit and no result. I have

seen and/or

heard him do it about 5 times (maybe more) today! But when he does finally

poop, it's not

hard, so I don't think he's constipated.

Should I try an infant suppository to help get it out? Or just leave it

be.....he doesn't seem to

be uncomfortable, but I just hate to see him struggle so and get no result :-(
