Guest guest
Please don't answer this by telling me to see another ped. Here is my situation: My son is 3.5 and has had all the immunizations. My daughter is a year and has too up to this point. When she goes in for her 1 year appt we will be ceasing this. She sees a vaccine-flexible ped who does not have a problem with this. I started taking her to a different ped for this reason--she had a mild reaction to the vaccinations. Anyways I love the ped my son sees for so many reasons. Her advice is worth so much because I love her outlook and expertise on things. The new vaccine-flexible ped is just not good with the stuff she is and she does things I don't agree with. I want to continue to take my son to this ped to maintain the relationship, but although she was once flexible on vaccines, she is not any more. For his next round of shots, I would like to forgo them, but I think this ped is going to have a lot to say about it and really push it, possibly to the point of dropping us as a client (can she do that?). How should I deal with this? What do I tell her when I refuse the vaccines? Would it be better to say I am not doing them because of religious reasons and what does that mean--I know nothing about the religious exemption? Or should I approach it another way? I don't wan to have to argue with her--I want it to be as nonconfrontational as possible. Any thoughts? Thanks! Sommer
