Guest guest
I've been reading some about measles. Sounds like measles itself is probably not a big deal. This is in line with what I've heard from older people who lived thru it. But the part that has me thinking is the potential complications from/the afterwards recovery from measles. These sound like the scary part of measles and I'm thinking - perhaps this is why people choose to vaccinate for it and why so many people are worried about the possible increase in cases of measles. I actually began to wonder - should I do that vaccine? I'm not convinced that the vaccine is the answer. 1) My kids could still get measles. 2) They could get atypical measles, as I've read, which is worse than regular measles. 3) I'm not convinced that the vaccine is safe anyway. Can someone help me out with this?
Guest guest
Glad to see people spreading truth instead of the fear big pharma has created for this mild disease. Guest guest
I don't think we can say for sure that your child had measles - the symptoms you gave are not typical of measles. The only way to tell at this point would be a blood test. Sorry your experience below was scary for you. Guest guest
Definately not chicken pox, scarletina, but rubella (german measles, right?) is a possibility. But it also could be a wierd rash accompanying some other virus. Spots in the mouth were tiny and white, they lasted about a day. They are gone now. We live in Missouri, out in the middle of no where- haven't shared the germs with many I can assure you. And not sure it is measles. But had friends over one day recently and just to be on the sfae side I let them know of the possibilty. I had to run an errand the other day but the kids stayed in the car. And other than Church on Sunday, small congregation, we usually only make monthly trips out- our next is the end of next week. So while I don't believe in vaxing my children, I don't try to impose the " dreaded germs " on others. I am hoping though it is not measles or rubella, a friend has a newborn at church and though no one in my family touched it or got near him, I worry that I might piss her off by spreading it to her baby. I hit her car a few months ago by accident of course. I really don't want to get on her nerves during her postpartum time. But then again the baby is nursing, even if it is rubella or measles the baby may not get it. WE'll see. I really appreciate all the great info here!! > > > > I can't be the only one mad at you for not sharing the germs. ;-) > > What state are you in? She might still be contagious. Guest guest
Doesn't sound like measles if it didn't spread out to the limbs. Could be atypical measles from the vaccine? Guest guest
I meant from coming in contact with someone who was vaxed. Guest guest
They never test the virus to compare. Guest guest
Hmmm. I have been wondering this. My older kids are vaxed- to a degree. My oldest has all until age 6- bad bad bad I know- I didn't know any better. AND he has Aspergers because of it- YAY. Okay- anyway, I've been wondering if the others could have it and just not show symptoms... the stuff I read on the internet said people can have it and not show signs. What do you think?? christina > > > > > > Doesn't sound like measles if it didn't spread out to the limbs. > >Could be atypical measles from the vaccine? > > > > > > Winnie >
