Guest guest
PHew! this is a lively group--lots to weed through. can I make a suggetion? Trim your posts. It's alot when on daily digest. I just want to update you all on my doc visit today. here is what we have: I have headaches, fevers, fatigue, and spots but just a few. they aren't too itchy and they aren't big or pussy, they more like bug bites. my face however feels like it wants to break out but hasn't DS4--no spots, very sore throat, serious coughing, runny nose-- yellow, then white, now clear and headaches so I went to the doc today just to confirm that i have it. the nurse says that she has never seen an adult come in there with CP in the 16 years that she's been there. When the doc came in he was surprised too. saying that he suspected shingles but sure enough I do have the CP. everyone was so surprised that I had it again since I most likely had it as a child. he gave me 2 prescriptions: (my attempt at his handwriting) valtrex 1000z po TID(?) and meolrol dore ADx 1 lave (Lol...or maybe it is this) medrol dose ADx 1 lawe does anyone know if I can take these while nursing? or if they are worth taking?? I asked him--couldn't I just ride it out without taking anything. he said you could, but with my history of serious pneumonia last winter. he doesn't want to take any chances of this CP causing it to cause pneumonia. BTW I am 36 and somewhat healthy. I eat right. no alcohol, no caffeine, don't smoke. I am a little overweight and live a stressful life (homeschooling single momma to a highschooler and a preschooler +work 3 jobs...among lots of other colorful issues thrown in the mix) I try to avoid anything prescribed nor over-the-counter unless I'm am absolutly dying. I do use acetomin. for occasional headaches and i do use some homeopatic store. This CP thing isn't really causing any pain, im just tired alot and trying to deal with my 4y.o. who is also sick. soooo...the question of the day...... which risk should I take--the prescriptions or NOT taking the prescriptions??? thanks for listening! hugs~Julz

We need to allow our bodies to deal with illness, not suppress it. The will just keep you from having a good case and drive the disturbance deeper and cause chronic illness in the long run That's all the know - drugs, drugs, drugs. I shared with you remedies that will help and other helpful natural things such as oatmeal baths - none of which will suppress your symptoms. >does anyone know if I can take these while nursing? or if they are >worth taking?? See above AND NO YOU can't take them while nursing - jeeshhhhhhh didn't they even ask you? >I asked him--couldn't I just ride it out without taking anything. >he said you could, but with my history of serious pneumonia last >winter. he doesn't want to take any chances of this CP causing it to >cause pneumonia. Well, its your choice, but if it were me, I would just do all I can to help my body instead of hinder Vitamin C in as high of doses as you can take - see the post I sent on Vitamin C last week (actually I send it again) >BTW I am 36 and somewhat healthy. >I eat right. no alcohol, no caffeine, don't smoke. Guest guest
That's just what I said he would do! It's all they have to offer. Don't use chemical drugs for CP. Don't use them while nursing. They will NOT cure you. What proof does he have that you will get pneumonia if you don't take these drugs? That's nonsense. You are a very busy lady, with a new situation and a sick child You're tired. Sleep. Put the little guy in bed with you and have your high schooler wait on you hand and foot (haha--like that will happen). It'll be okay, but you need to rest. Winnie To take or NOT to take--(was: gggrrr.I have Chicken Pox) Vaccinations > PHew! this is a lively group--lots to weed through. > can I make a suggetion? > Trim your posts.
