VACCINE FOR MOTHER AFTER BIRTH???

HI All,

just curious, they have listed in the hospital pre-made " birth plan "

whether or not i would receive the Tdap vaccine.

what is this exactly?? i suppose it's so i can pass it onto the baby

through my breastmilk, but i just want to make sure what it is.

i really don't want to get it, unless i have too....is this something

new? i don't recall getting a vaccine with my last birth (7 yrs ago)

btw, i also saw an ad for this is the american baby magazine, urging

mothers to get this vaccine...does it have something to do with

pertussis???

i'm 37 weeks, could pop any time....so any feedback would be helpful.
