Guest guest Posted April 7, 2004 Report Share Posted April 7, 2004 Job Title : Coordinator – HIV/AIDS and Trafficking Location : Mumbai Reports to : State Representative Catholic Relief Services, an overseas relief and Development agency working in more than 80 countries around the world to alleviate poverty and suffering, is seeking a qualified professional to work for its Mumbai office. The position is contractual and carries attractive salary package, commensurate with experience. Overall Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Coordinator – HIV/AIDS and Trafficking include: • Coordinate the State HIV/AIDS and Trafficking program and assist state program to enhance quality in the interventions. • Represent the program to various potential donors, collaborative partners and related Government departments. • Raise funds, identify potential donors, assist develop funding proposals and provide technical assistance and guidance to state management and staff. The Coordinator will have responsibility of coordinating interventions with the state staff and ensuring that the technical and management requirements of the projects are met. Coordination and integration of activities with other sectors is a priority to ensure a more holistic community development approach. The position requires significant field travel, communication and negotiation skills. Qualifications and Experience: Post graduate in Social work/Sociology or its equivalent with a minimum of 5 to 6 years of Experience in working with HIV/AIDS and/ or Trafficking. Specific Duties: 1. To provide technical assistance and guidance on the following: • Development of state HIV/AIDS and trafficking plan. • Explore possibilities for partnerships and identify opportunities and models that assure program quality and an integrated approach. • To assist in reviewing project proposals/documents. • Advocacy issues related to HIV/AIDS and Trafficking. • Develop project proposals. 2. To represent the program to donors, potential donors and / or other agencies. 3. To share methodologies with country program and maintain a database of resources (e.g. consultants, research organizations) available to assist in conducting situational analysis needs assessments and related development tools. 4. To stay up to date on quality standards and innovations (e.g. best practices, lessons learned, new donor initiatives and training opportunities relating to HIV/AIDS and Trafficking. 5. To collect, summarize and distribute HIV/AIDS and Trafficking information to relevant donors, CRS country and state offices in coordination with the National HIV/AIDS teams. 6. To provide regular reports to the State Representative on activities accomplished, lessons learned, new or revised design ideas, programming principles and/ or resource requirements for state HIV/AIDS and Trafficking programming. 7. To identify staffing requirements for effective HIV/AIDS and Trafficking programming. Assist in recruitment of staff as appropriate. 8. To provide training to partners and program staff in preparing quality HIV/AIDS program interventions. 9. To draw on in-house training skills and expertise to upgrade the skills of the staff, wherever possible. 10. To help to foster team building and intra state collaboration. 11. To assist in the design and implementation of project evaluations according to CRS and donor guidelines. 12. To work with CRS offices in the development of monitoring and evaluation systems. 12. To ensure in collaboration with the State offices, review the various formats used in the monitoring and evaluation system for appropriateness, efficiency, accuracy and ease of data collection at all levels. 13. To provide progress and final reports to management and donors; ensure that progress reports are submitted in a timely manner.
