Guest guest
Cassie- Thank you so very much for your post. It was exactly what I was feeling. I'm the same as you with natural but I agree with everything you said. Hospitals scare the crud out of me. I know someone personally that was vegan that took her child to the big children's hospital and when they couldn't figure out what was wrong they took her baby away. Infact it was a pretty big news story. Took them a year to get their baby back but than they had to do some things the judge wanted with choosing the Dr. for them etc. It was a scary experience. There is one Dr. Where I just moved from that was known for calling and checking to make sure you picked up your prescritption. I knew moms that would pay out of pocket for a prescritpion that they had no intention of using because they were so scared of this Dr. I think she is the same one that would report parents that didn't vaccinate. We have the right to not vaccinate in our state but Child Protective Services has been not a good thing for a lot of good healthy/natural minded families. For me I don't want the hassle of Dr's trying to push drugs/vaccines or trying to take my child away etc. It's real out here. It seems teh more natural you want to be the more they try and find a problem with you/your family. I was treated really bad in the hospital with my 4th. I planned a homebirth but my midwife was inexperienced and nervouse because baby was taking awhile to come. We went to the hospital where he was born 20 minutes later without a problem. My CNM (I went to as back up) wasn't there and since I didn't take some of those test they try to force pg moms to take. They treated us like we didn't care about the health of our child. They wouldn't let me leave the hospital and tried to keep me longer until I made an appointment with my Pediatrician. When I got home and called the Peditrician back they told me I didn't really need to bring my baby in and that as long as everyting was fine not to worry and just come at a regular appointment. So again Cassie thank you for explaining it so well. There are some battles that are harder to fight than others. I would rather avoid ER's as much as possible. One father went to jail because he didn't take his kids to regular check ups (kids weren't sick). Diane
