Guest guest
From: Arlynn Liebster <abfab@...> Subject: Re: Dreaded call from school nurse :-( Vaccinations Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 3:26 PM In NY there have been several court cases proving that it is our PERSONAL religious beliefs against vaccinating and that we do not have to belong to a church against vaccines to have our religious exemption. We have several basic reasons: Defilement of flesh and the temple of the holy spirit (our bodies). (1Corinthians) Using aborted human fetuses for vaccine. (You must not murder) Using animals for vaccine and injecting those cells into the body, thus defiling and mixing the species (forbidden in Leviticus). ================================= I was under the impression that if you're trying to get an exemption in NY, you should not mention ingredients at all. They allow for being against the practice of immunizing, but not for what goes into it, because that's specific to each vaccine. That's my memory of trying to learn the ropes in this crazy state. Guest guest
If you have the religious defintion in there, it comes down to, if you wanted to, wordship a tree, it is none of their business. I had the same problem, the superintendent asked what my religion was, I asked to know all the religions of the teachers in the school was. No comment, I said according to the definition in my letter, it can be anything I see fit as religion, in the end he asked what should he call my religion, I said, " the Religion " he said fine thank you. lol Both my boys have been in school no problems since and he told me other families were approaching him about no shots too, so started something, I was first, but more followed. Western NY Re: Dreaded call from school nurse :-( NY schools are absolutely allowed to determine what the specific religious beliefs regarding non-vaxing are. It is in their legal right to do so and many schools do ask and many schools do not ask. That being said, whatever it IS that we are religiously against in not taking vaccines into our bodies MUST be of a religious nature in NY b/ c there is no philosophical exemption yet to cover people with those types of beliefs against vaxing. As such, people of Jewish faith do not take pork or shellfish into their bodies, people of Catholic faith do not abort their fetuses, and I do not inject toxic substances of any sort AND do not take into my blood stream/holy body any of those *ingredients* in vaccines. As such I most certainly did state what my religious beliefs are in our letter to the school principal. Before that I was interviewed by the school nurse. It was her job to determine the nature of my beliefs regarding vaccination and if they sincerely held. Once we had our meeting and she was satisfied, then I was sent a form to fill out the specific nature of my beliefs and had to have it notarized and delivered to the Principal, who then reviewed the document (letter) and determined if it was in compliance with NYS law. When he had determined it was in compliance, he amazingly and kindly telephoned me to say he found everything in compliance and had to fill out paperwork to the State stating such and would issue me a letter saying that we have a religious exemption from vaccines and may attend public school in our District. It seems like a lot of work, but it all went smoothly and everyone in our District that I had to have dealings with were incredibly polite and kind and stuck to their lawful roles. I do know of some families in other districts than ours that had lawyers come on the interviews, but I do think those types of people perhaps are more skittish when dealing with " Authority " . I simply knew my rights and simply stated what my religious beliefs ARE, pure and simple. I also quoted Scripture where these commands to abstain from defiling the holy temple are located. So, if you have a Christian religious belief, get out your Bible and start digging up the scriptures to show them. For sure, how can someone refute the Bible and that your belief is not of a religious nature? If you aren't Christian, perhaps in your Holy Books there are similar tenants to remain pure and holy (usually there are).

Guest guest
That's great news. Good job! You did say the right thing. If they ever bring it up again, do the same thing. Funny though, how did the health department get the records? I'm sure they check with the schools to see that the paperwork is in order, but they take your personal info back with them to their office? Does anyone know about that?
