Guest guest
Hi, everyone, my name is , I have four children. All have been non or selectively vaccinated. I have a very serious question, in light of recent events. My two youngest children, ages 2.5 and 3 months were both tested yesterday for pertussis. Of course, I feel like the world's WORST mother right now, the pediatrician made me feel horrible, because neither one of my youngest has been immunized at all. We won't know the results of the test until at least tomorrow, so I'm hanging on the edge of my seat and waiting for the Public Health SWAT Team to show up at my front door and arrest me. My question is, has anyone here had a child inflicted with one of the diseases that they are supposed to be vaccinated against? Did this change your opinions of vaxxing? Did you vaccinate them after they contracted the illness? By sheer coincidence, I took out Dr. Sears Vaccine book from the library last week, and just finished reading it. Pertussis is not *that* serious, and my children (if they have it), will recover, but it will be hard to stand against my friends' " I told you so's " for the rest of my life. Thanks! I think the only time you can say your child is immunized is if they've had the disease and are now immune to catching it again. And even if they've had the vaccine, they could have gotten the disease. > My question is, has anyone here had a child inflicted with one of the > diseases that they are supposed to be vaccinated against? ### Not yet - my 4 year old hasn't been sick at all. I kinda wish he'd catch chicken pox, so he could have immunity, but he's been so healthy.... Did this > change your opinions of vaxxing? ### I'm speaking in theory only, but no, I don't think so. Vaccines simply don't work - it's like playing Russian roulette. After reading on vaccine ingredients and side effects.. no thanks. Did you vaccinate them after they > contracted the illness? ### I would not - why?? If they've had the illness, they're now immune so there would be no reason for the vaccine. Not that they work in the first place. > > By sheer coincidence, I took out Dr. Sears Vaccine book from the > library last week, and just finished reading it. Unless, of course, you get rid of the fear factor by realizing measles and chicken pox (and pertussis) are not deadly in vast majority of cases. Stand firm - you're doing the right thing. I know it's hard when your child is sick, but they'll be better off in the long run without vaxes. Welcome again, Magda
Guest guest
Yeah...your right! That shows how much her doc knows. Do you know what the claimed percentages are for each shot of Pertussis? Guest guest
Perfect reply Winnie And I can attest personally having treated a case of this in an unvaxed child with homeopathy. Got through it fine. Liz > > Hi, --welcome! > > No one can arrest you for anything. There are no laws requiring you to vax kids that young unless they are in daycare. AND if you use an exemption (which you'd have to or the daycare wouldn't take them), then you also are within your legal rights. > > Now, why are they being tested, just because they're not vaxed? Are other kids who are vaxed being tested? Whatever your children have they got from someone else. It didn't just grow in them as the " virgin pertussis " --if they even have it. > > I have had three of my non-vaxed kids get chicken pox. No big deal, as most people know. And it wouldn't make sense to vaccinate them after they got the disease. Guest guest
Hi -- Welcome to the group, and don't feel like your the worst mom. My DS had whooping cough in 9th grade (he's partially vaxed, he had a severe allergic reaction to DPT). I didn't take him to the pediatrician right away, I thought it was just a cough, possibly from allergies, besides he was playing and practicing lacrosse very day. Anyway, after about 4 weeks of him coughing, I brought him into the pediatrician, they tested and he had it. We did no meds (although he had a rescue inhaler just in case), just lots of fresh raw veggies and fruits and a lot of supplements to boost his immune system. He did fine and had a great season. I almost forgot, the pediatrician commented he was probably the only child in our area that had whooping cough, that wasn't fully vaxed...poor kid next door, fully vaxed, was sooooooooo sick with it! My two kids (ages 2 1/2 and 14 months) are also not vaccinated. So far, we haven't dealt with any diseases that would have otherwise been vaccinated against. But in my research about vaccines and immune system and overall health, what I discovered is that the body needs to overcome these illnesses in order to build a healthy immune system. Many moms have reported big strides in their children's development following bouts with measles, chicken pox, and other normal childhood diseases. I'm not entirely sure about pertussis, but I would imagine it's probably a similar situation. That being said, I feel for you! I know how I feel when one of my little ones gets a slight fever, or the sniffles, so I can imagine how difficult this must be for you to go through. Good luck, and just know that the " I told you so's " don't even really know what they're talking about!
