Guest guest
Hello! So, I was inspired by the man's email last week that he was drafting to send to his in-laws regarding why he wasn't vaccinating his daughter. I decided to write a similar email to my parents including some of his various points as I thought it was very well written. You see, I have an 11 month old, unvaccinated son whose grandparents are all very weary of the decision we made to not vaccinate. After reading my email, my father wrote back saying " Go to this website: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/6mishome.htm " What do I say? This is so hard for my husband and me to talk to them because they are so supportive of the AAP, CDC, etc.
Guest guest
" Your concern is appreciated, your approval is unnecessary " A very nice woman on another group I am on shot this quote out years ago, I loved it so much, and I have used it nicely, like saying " your concern is very appreciated, I know that you care, and thank you.....but we are his parents, and your approval of our parenting decisions is not necessary, no offense, and we love you very much " It shouldn't be a discussion at all if they have not done the same homework that you have. End of discussion. (nicely). Although it's hard, with parents who dissagree with your choices, you have to be firm, or choose to make no discussion about it at all. Good luck, I know it's tough.
