Guest guest
Spongia tosta and drosera can be immensely helpful in pertussis, but only if the symptom picture fits too. Antimonium tartaricum can also be good, but only if the symptom picture matches. Sometimes it's a case of trial and error until you find the right remedy. What is a chest x-ray going to do to help? It won't show pertussis, and I would imagine she's too young for it to confirm asthma, if indeed an x-ray can confirm asthma. All you'll do is expose her to unnecessary radiation. Good luck - must be awful for your little mite. Sue x -- Re: Re: Pertussis again, lol That's pretty much what my daugther has, coughing fits. Although, she is coughing less, it was especially bad in the morning, so much so that she vomited a few times. Part of me does not think that it's ashma as we all have the cough, comes and goes, but for her, it's pretty consistent for past 2 months (but getting better). I have tried some homeopathic stuff (working with a homeopath from out-of-state) but the remedies have not done much...at least not that i can see...supposed to get pretty immediate results. We tried spongia toasta and drusera. Do you remember what you used...anyone who has treated whooping cough, what did you use? should i ask for a chest x-ray? thanks! christie Re: Pertussis again, lol > > > The only symptoms were non-stop coughing fits. Guest guest
I see - sorry. It's been a long week with not too much sleep and I'm not the sharpest knife in the block tonight! LOL! I believe in my dd's case that the constitutional treatment was shifting a disturbance and that the wheezing was a sign of the disturbance moving out. Her present homoeopath gave her a prescription and she didn't have any more problems. Sue x -- Re: Pertussis again, lol I just got confused when you said it made the wheezing worse:0) On Oct 18, 2008, at 10:52 AM, Sue wrote: > Hi Correy, > > Do you think that cases of pertussis need to be treated with > Antibiotics? > > **No I don't. Guest guest
sue, it seems that the drosera did nothing and the spongia (although symptoms described were spot on) only made it worse (more wheezing, more congestion). I am so confused. Where is your homeopath? I am on long island. Guest guest
Sometimes with homeopathy it gets worse before it gets better, things clearing out more intensely. Guest guest
Hi Winnie. I am confused. How do you know when to move on with another remedy. I thought if a remedy didn't work move on to another. :0) On Oct 19, 2008, at 2:06 AM, wharrison@... wrote: > Sometimes with homeopathy it gets worse before it gets better, > things clearing out more intensely. > > Winnie > > Re: Pertussis again, lol > > > > > > > > > I just got confused when you said it made the wheezing worse:0) > > > > > > On Oct 18, 2008, at 10:52 AM, Sue wrote: > > > > > > > Hi Correy, > > > > > > > > Do you think that cases of pertussis need to be treated with > > > > Antibiotics? > > > > > > > > **No I don't. Guest guest
I would move on if there's no change after a reasonable time. Getting worse is a change, so I would try to ride it out and see if there's improvement after that. But that would depend on if you're looking at acute or chronic problems, and what the problems is. For ex., when my son gets poison ivy, he takes Rhus tox right away. It can be so itchy and he can be so impatient, if it didn't work within an hour, I probably would be trying something else. But it does, so I don't. Or with hives, I don't like waiting as that could get serious. And if it is serious, you're better off with a professional. With a chronic problem, I've had my kids treated then told to wait a month.
