Guest guest
I took my 2 month old for his check up today, and of course we didn't do any shots. They tried to get me to sign a waiver, but I told them I wanted to take it home and look it over first. They tried to tell me I HAD to. I told them I didn't have to sign anything. Then they tried to tell me it was just so that they wouldn't be held responsible in case he got one of the diseases that he was supposed to get a shot for. I told them I wouldn't hold them responsible if he got sick, however, I WOULD hold them responsible if they forced vaccination and he ended up with mercury poisoning like my older son. Anyway, long story short, I didn't sign anything because I've read on this board and another one that I should never sign their waiver, that I should write my own. What should I write? Here is what theirs said. " I HAVE READ, OR HAVE HAD EXPLAINED TO ME, INFORMATION ABOUT THE DISEASES AND THE VACCINES) LISTED BELOW. I BELIEVE, I UNDERSTAND THE BENEFITS AND RISKS OF THE VACCINES CITED, AND ASK THAT THE VACCINES LISTED BELOW NOT BE GIVEN TO ME OR THE PERSON FOR WHOM I AM AUTHORIZED TO MAKE THIS REQUEST. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT HAVING THE VACCINES ADMINISTERED. Hmmmmm. Let me see. First of all, NO, I haven't had a chance to read or have it all explained to me, as you just now shoved it all in my face and rushed out the door. Second of all, I don't BELIEVE I understand the benefits and RISKS!!! I KNOW FOR DAMN CERTAIN the risks of the vaccines! I live with it every freakin' day! Third, what ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES are they talking about???? Turning me into CPS???? They must think I'm a complete idiot. And last of all, why....when we let them vaccinate our first son did I have to sign away my life and give permission, but now that I'm refusing for the second son, it's like I'm a criminal and I have no right to refuse them. I think I will draft a letter stating that vaccines are 100% safe and effective, they will be held soley responsible if I vaccinate and he regresses into autism! Bet they'd be the ones refusing to sign that one! That was all with the nurse. The doctor was fairly easy going about it. He just said, " Now let's not wait too long, you know. It's a real pain to have to play catch up. " Ha! He has no idea what a real pain is. Come live my life for a day with a child with autism, mister. Then you'll REALLY know what real pain is. Anyway, I don't mind signing a waiver if it gets them off my back, but I want to draft it myself. Any ideas???
