Guest guest
This was in a local newspaper. With a big picture of a family with their daughter right before her 12 month vaxes. On the left hand side of the paper are links to the CDC, AAP, and immunize.org. It was written by a local " nurse " that works for Help Me Grow. It's just sickening. Immunizations: The gift of health As parents, we want basic things for our children. We want them to grow up knowing that they are loved. We want to provide them with opportunities in life to reach their fullest potential. We want them to be healthy and happy. There are many things parents want to give their children. Good health is perhaps one of the greatest gifts. We all know that getting our children immunized can protect them from some very serious diseases. But did you know that it can also: Protect their friends, schoolmates and others from those same diseases? Some children can't get certain vaccines for medical reasons, or some children are not able to respond to certain vaccines. For these children, the immunity of people around them is their best protection. Protect your grandchildren, their grandchildren and future generations from diseases? If we stopped immunizations, diseases that currently are under control could eventually come back to cause epidemics. Many of these diseases are not diseases of the past. They are still with us and circulating in many parts of the world. Even help rid the world of diseases that have been crippling and killing children for centuries? Diseases that were once common-place, such as polio, measles, mumps, whooping cough, diphtheria and rubella, are now only distant memories for most Americans. Today, there are few reminders of the suffering, disabilities and premature deaths caused by diseases that are now preventable with vaccines. Immunization coverage among children in the United States is at or near the highest ever recorded for most vaccines. This high immunization coverage translates into record or near record low levels of vaccine-preventable disease. Take time to learn about immunizations for your child. After all as parents we only want what is best for our children. If you have questions about immunizations that are recommended for your child, talk to your family doctor.
