Guest guest
Thank you Sylvia. That means a lot. I did contact a rescue angel (we only have 2 in our state) and she never responded. We also only have 2 DAN doctors in my state and I'm told that one is not that great. The one is who pretty good I contacted twice and they never responded because they weren't taking any new patients. However, my old boss just happened to be reading my mass emails to family and friends and she told me that a co-worker of hers and I have a lot in common (vaccine-injured children). This woman recovered her son from Autism 7 yrs ago with this same doctor that I've been trying to see. This Mom (an angel) got my foot in the doctor's door too!! Wednesday cannot come soon enough..... How are your children doing now? Thank you again Sylvia. I may just take you up on the email thing...I'm so sorry that we got off on the wrong foot months ago....I have been in " overdrive " for what seems like forever. I'm sure that you can relate in one way or another. > > Hi Dawn, > > I am behind on my mail, so forgive me if this has been mentioned > already, but have you contacted a Rescue Angel? > http://www.generationrescue.org/angels.php > > I am a Rescue Angel for my area, and have two boys on the spectrum, > ages 13 and 10. Guest guest
I am sorry your Rescue Angel didn't respond. I hear that once in a while - some of the moms take on a lot and can fall behind and it can be hard to catch up. I am very lucky that I am a stay-at-home mom, so I have been able to keep up and connect with everyone who contacts me. I am a Rescue Angel, a TACA Mentor, and a FEAT Biomed mentor. I just had a biomed meeting at my house last night. Networking with local parents can be one of the most important things you can do. Number one is the sharing of information that can help your child. And number two is that you do not feel alone in this fight. My two guys are doing pretty good. My oldest is pretty much recovered from autism, but there are always issues to work on. My youngest has had many more issues to struggle with, but he has made some wonderful improvements too. He is still non-verbal and has periodic setbacks, but we keep plugging along. And oh my goodness, no hard feelings at all about the Kirby thing. I am crazy about the guy, and it shows, but we moms have to stick together too.
