Guest guest
I don't know on #1 but yes, #2 is right.. the germ enters through the first defense: the skin and the mucous membrane so the immune system has a chance to get an alert. When injected directly into the blood stream, the immune system doesn't get a red flag and the first 2 lines have been by-passed. Which, imo, is partially why the vaccine fails too b/c the body takes longer to recognize the enemy.. the defenses are down, so to speak. At least, from what I gather. If I had the chance I'd ask mr. offit why I should go on his recommendations for damaging my child when he has a vested interest in my child getting the vaccine. He is not impartial. Guest guest
I would ask where the 1 in a 1,000 children were from--third world country, Chicago, Iceland, Bali?? Are they averaging out everyone throughout the world? What was the health of these children? How many actually died and how many actually were brain damaged, and to what degree? And when were the statistics taken? Who gathered them? Make them defend their statistics. For those of us who believe the MMR causes autism, why isn't that 1 in 150 scarier? Let's focus on eliminating that first since it's a bigger problem than these supposed measles victims. As for #2, I would say, so what? Who cares how many are in either? What has the comparison got to do with anything? Vaccines are dangerous whether they have one or 150 immunological components, and they have a whole lot more putrid things in them than that. I would add that every vaccine carries the risk of death and what about that?
