Maracuja From: J lessard <jlessard1@...> Subject: Vit.C in the already constipated...? Vaccinations Date: Saturday, December 6, 2008, 6:34 AM Vit.C in the already constipated. ..? Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid): Brief Functional Summary: Promotes excretion of toxic metals, essential antioxidant, supports thyroid function. Vitamin C is known to enhance the excretion of toxic metals in the gut and to protect against free radical damage. If Vit. C promotes excretion of toxic metals, how fast does it do this? In the autistic population we have many that are constipated beyond belief. Wouldn't it be better to try to clean out their colon before doing Vit.C? If they take Vit.C while constipated can't the toxins not allowed to escape with normal bowel movements be reabsorbed like with iron? http://www.sciencef ormulas.com/ text/how_ text_07.html
Guest guest
Too much vita C gives you the runs.. that is how you know when you're taking too much, so I would think if you are constipated, a few days of too much C would help clean you out, kwim? Guest guest
I know some kids that " leak " because they are so constipated. I would think there would be an exacerbation of symptoms from everything being reabsorbed for the first few days before the diareah comes in heathy people. My daughter cannot tolerate even small amts. of Vit.C & she is no longer constipated. Jenn L RE: Vit.C in the already constipated...?
