Guest guest
yes, the law you cited requires that they accept it. keep your form simple. We are getting ready to move ro another town, and will have to change day care providers. My children are currently at a home daycare (not so much my son since he is in all day kindergarten) . She is fine with the fact that we do not vaccinate and she also has made sure her grandchildren are not vacciated (we got REALLY lucky :-) Now that we are moving we will have to find another provider. Here is what the State of Kansas law states: " (d) Each child cared for in a child care facility, including children of the person maintaining the facility, shall be required to have current such immunizations as the secretary of health and environment considers necessary. The person maintaining a child care facility shall maintain a record of each child's immunizations and shall provide to the secretary of health and environment such information relating thereto, in accordance with rules and regulations of the secretary, but the person maintaining a child care facility shall not have such person's license revoked solely for the failure to have or to maintain the immunization records required by this subsection. (e) The immunization requirement of subsection (d) shall not apply if one of the following is obtained: (1) Certification from a licensed physician stating that the physical condition of the child is such that immunization would endanger the child's life or health; or (2) a written statement signed by a parent or guardian that the parent or guardian is an adherent of a religious denomination whose teachings are opposed to immunizations. " I know that public schools MUST accept a religious exceptions but would that apply to a day care or is it completely the providers discretion? andrea
Guest guest
Thanks Winnine and Arianna, I hope there are no problems. My master plan is to work only part time and that way, I would not even have to worry about day care...we will see :-) andrea > > yes, the law you cited requires that they accept it. keep your form simple. > > > Arianna Mojica- (UCC 1-207/1-103) > ~~~ " All rights not demanded are presumed waived " . ~ Thurston > ~~~ " The only safe vaccine is a vaccine that is never used " -- Dr. A. , National Institutes of Health > ~~~A truth¢s initial commotion is directly proportional to how deeply the lie was believed...When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker, a raving lunatic. Guest guest
Most daycare providers don't know all the law If they accept any government money, even money for meals, they must allow the exemptions. If they are totally private, they do not have to...........but most don't realize that. Just print a copy of the law and your statement that you " are an adherent of a religious denomination whose teachings are opposed to immunizations. " You don't have to say what denomination that is and they can't ask - it is not in the law. Guest guest
Thanks Sherri, I know that the day care I am thinking about does receive state funding for meals and snacks (as I use to work there and keep records of how many kids at lunch and snack.) Thanks for the advice!! andrea > > Most daycare providers don't know all the law > If they accept any government money, even money for meals, they must > allow the exemptions. > > If they are totally private, they do not have to...........but most > don't realize that. > Just print a copy of the law and your statement that you " are an > adherent of a religious denomination > whose teachings are opposed to immunizations.
