Guest guest
Hello, I am a new member. I was wondering what you all say when you dont want to have your child/children vaccinated? I do know in some states you can be exempted from vaccines due to religious beliefs, so is that the reason you all use? And is the law does indeed say that we can be excused due to religious beliefs then I dont think it makes sense if the physicians make you sign a waiver and then contact child protective services, since it IS the law that we dont have to. Guest guest
What do you do if you've already signed one? Thanks, Liz G. From: Dawn <dawndanc@...> Subject: Re: Well Visits Vaccinations Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 7:50 AM I totally agree with everything that Mavis has said. Whatever you do though, do NOT sign that vaccine waiver form that the pediatrician provides you with. Find a doctor who will not force you to sign it. If you read it carefully, it states that you are a neglectful parent for not vaccinating and that you are putting everyone at risk by your actions. Some parents have had child protective services alerted when they signed this form - amazing how that is not news worthy, huh? Not all doctors are making parents sign this - most are though. > > I have done selective/delayed/ 1 at a time vaccinations on my 3 yr old > DD and my 4 mo old has had none. Guest guest
Hi, Sabina. It's not the physician you need to give a reason to. For them you just say no thanks. I don't do those. And you're right. It doesn't make sense about signing it if the law allows the use of exemptions. What you use the exemption for is for school/daycare, NOT for real life. And you don't say anything. You sign the exemption and hand it in with NO verbal explanation. Depending on what state you live in, you would use either a religious or philosophical exemption. Check here for what your state law is: http://www.nvic.org/state-site/state-exemptions.htm How old is your child/children? It is rare that a physician would contact CPS for that There is NOT a law that an infant or child has to vaccinated to live The only laws are associated with school attendance as they knew they could get more vaccine sold that way There are liberal religious or philosophical exemptions available in most states except WV and MS (and NY has a more restrictive one too) But it is about school attendance What state are you in?
