Guest guest
I was thinking about the genetic differences in all of us. I think all of us are prone to some diseases and not others. Nature intended it that way for a reason, so if there was a major disease outbreak some of us would survive, even if many of us are susceptible and die from the disease. This genetic difference is what accounts for the huge difference we see in what is tolerated in some people. Nothing is tolerated by everybody in the world, no food, no medicine, no chemicals or environmental things. What we humans are trying to do is infect 100% of the population (i.e. vaccinate) with the same diseases even if only 5% (just an imaginary number) of the population were susceptible to the disease. I think this is the most ridiculous way for research to be done. We are not only not discovering why the 5% is susceptible, but the government and drug companies think that every baby is like every other without accounting for genes, food, environment etc. Makes me wonder what our genes will be like in the future - I can imagine some horrible scene were all the vaccinated children end up being susceptible to the same disease because of their previous vaccinations. Sorry I am just rambling, but I was thinking how lack of diversity in everything is usually a problem and that is where the world as a whole is going now, with food, medicine, culture etc etc and nature doesn't work that way!! I am so glad that I joined this group because even though I have always questioned vaccines, I know I wouldn't have the courage to act out of the norm without the support. Good for you to question vaccines, and I can see why after your experiences. I think you put it a great way, that vaccinating is engraved on our brains. That is so true. Now, I know it's scary not to vaccinate when we're taught to believe in it. But you will come to see that vaccines are far scarier. First, look at the risks. When you vaccinate, the risk of reactions is immediate. When you don't vaccinate, the risk of disease is NOT immediate. First, you have to be exposed--which might never happen. Then you have to come down with the disease (and even then, your child is far from doomed). Until that point, there is no risk comparison between vaxing and not vaxing. Does that make sense? The second thing is that unless vaccines work, there is no risk vs. benefit to weigh. There just plain is no benefit. That takes awhile to come to understand. Most people still think well, it's risky but at least there will be protection. NOT TRUE. You mention pneumonia. All four of my children have had it. None had the vaccine. All got through it (and I did use antibiotcs). I believe my earlier use of traditional meds, antibiotics, etc. for minor illnesses affected their immune systems and left them susceptible. I didn't know any alternatives at the time. I have had a lot of scary experiences with childhood illnesses but it hasn't been with measles, mumps, rubella, Hep. B, etc. My longest lasting and scariest was a couple of years nursing one son through asthma from a reaction to the MMR. On the vitamins, I never gave a baby vitamin supplements, but I was breastfeeding. If you are, you could take the vitamins yourself. If not, hopefully someone here can share what they would do. I would use homeopathy and give lots of fluids, and use a vaporizer if the baby got a cold.
