Guest guest
Hi all, I joined this group a few months ago, and it has really made me think twice about vaccines!I have an 8 year old, 5 year old, and 4 month old. The oldest is completely vaxxed, the 5 year old is due for kindergarden shots, and the baby has had 1 shot(hib), then I found this group....Anyway, I am seeking advice for all three kids. My 8 year old has cronic constipation and allergies(nasal), which poped up a year or so after the kindergarden shots: any relation? My 5 year old is fine, just very hyper and inattentive at times at home and school, not sure if there is a relation, but he is due for his kindergarden shots, which I don't want to do, but I can't file for exemptions, since he has had shots before, and there is no medical issue with him, plus his Dr., I am sure will want to know why I don't want him to get shots, and won't grant my wishes...BUT, I am a little worried about NOT doing Dtap, b/c my 8 year old was directly exposed to whooping cough, and she is a kid that catches everything, and she did not get it, so I am a little on the fence about not getting that shot, b/c there is an outbreak every year at their school. I know the shot isn't completely effective, but I also believe it helped protect his sister. Would it be worthwhile to get him the pertussis part of the shot? Would certain supplements help the older 2 kids? They take vit c, a multi, vit d, and the oldest takes zyrtec and miralax in addition. As for the baby, he had extreme fussiness after the hib shot at 2 months, then got exzcema on his legs not long after. At his 4 month check up I told the Dr I wanted to hold off doing any vaccines until I read more, And then MAYBE 1 at a time. I called the school where he will go in the future, and asked the nurse if it was common to have parents ask about vaccine exemptions, and her response was " No, the only unvaccinated kids in the school are the siblings of the autistic kids " Hmmmm, think I see a link here....I am really on the fence, b/c I really want to protect the baby from all of the gunk out there. I do believe my other 2 were sick alot as infants and toddlers b/c the vaccines lowered their immune systems. So between that ,the ingredients in them, and the risks, I don't want to do anything, but every Dr I speak to here wants me to at least selectively vax him. Apparently it is not too common here to not vax your kids ( I am in Virginia) The baby is breastfed, and I give him and myself vitamin c. Anyway, any advice on how I can convince myself and the Drs I am doing the right thing by not vaxxing would be great. Thanks all Amy
