Guest guest
My daughter was running a fever over the weekend. Other than her fever she was acting fine, so I thought she was just cutting teeth. Then Monday, I started to feel sick, and by Tuesday, I had a very painful soar throath. So I went to the doctor and was told that I have strep throat. So, I took my daughter to the urgent care because she was very irritable, and I wanted to make sure she didn't have a soar throat as well. I've been to this urgent care before, and my dd's vaccine status was never a problem. However, last night the urgent care doctor was a young doctor who looked fresh out of her residency. She never yelled or belittled me, but she brought the vaccine issue up over and over and over. She finally came to the point to tell me to take my dd to the ER because my dd could have 'anything' because she wasn't vaccinated. I am SO worried that this young doctor will call cps on me. I have a philosophical exemption, but I don't think doctors know the law themselves. She was appalled that I didn't vaccinate my daughter. Just one more thing: I try to keep the fact that I don't vaccinate my dd to myself, but whenever I listen to people talk about vaccines, school compliance, ect....people really have never even heard about the vaccine issue. I find it amazing how many people haven't even heard anything concerning vaccines, especially since the media presented so many stories in the past. Sorry, for the long post. I feel like I am alone in wanting to keep my daughter healthy and happy. It is so frustrating, and worrying about cps is something us parents shouldn't have to worry about. Thanks.
