The information I have states that MSM is good for preventing yeast

infections. Says it keeps the body's PH normal and when the PH is normal

the yeast can't grow. However, I wouldn't use MSM instead of acidophilus

but in addition along with it! Judy

Hi guys - neat to be back on line. My question: when should I take the

acidolphilus - 2 hours after the Minicin - or 2/day a.m. p.m.? What best

results have you guys had?

Bev, re: bunionectomy - mine required 1 " of bone removed from each foot bone,

toes dropped down and pinned in place, big toe fused. I'm just out of hte

cast for 1 week (operation 12/1) but I'm walking and back to almost normal

daily routines. The first 3 weeks were hard. Now my toes just sort of hang

there, circulation is ok etc., but no support for foot, yet. Still they are

not sitting on top of my bones as they were, and less pain, no, different pain

so far. Happy to be walking and able to go and do again. :)

I don't take it on the advice of my gp. He said if I had a yeast problem I

could have suppositories to help with it.

Interested in your bunionectomy. Was it successful. I am contemplating

getting mine done so I can wear decent shoes instead of wide walking shoes.

I'll give you my reasoning. There are a couple of versions.

Don't take it within 2 hours of the Minocin since Minocin will kill the

acidophillus...thus a waste of money and time.

Also....I would take it about 1/2 hour before eating (I never can time that

right, I just take it at meal time) . This is so that the acidophillus has

something to " eat " so it may grow into many gaaazillions of good bacteria.

Cranberry capsules, available at most health-food and high quality

nutritional stores, as well as (I believe) WalMart & Sam's Club, have

been reported hear to work *EXTREMELY* well. My wife reports same -

very, very effective - much more so than fresh or dried cranberries or

straight (unsweetened) juice or combo-juice (cran-whatever).

Dear Friends:

The recent posts about yeast concern me, and I'll tell you why. I do

not have a problem with restriction diets, whether it be low-casein,

low-fat, low-gluten, or probiotic, as long as the child continues to

have a calorically and nutritionally balanced diet of dairy, fruit,

starch, and protein sources, with a daily multivitamin with iron and

fluoride.

It is another thing to advocate the use of nystatin or similar

antifungal products without evidence of a detected organism on

culture, or empiric evidence (like athlete's foot or thrush). The

indiscriminate use of oral antifungals (as well as antibiotics) can

ROYALLY screw up a child's natural intestinal and skin flora, and

cause severe infections from germs that are normally kept from

infecting you by the competing " good " germs (like Lactobacillus) that

dwell in your intestines and skin. This has led, even when used

properly and cautiously, to antibiotic resistance of formerly

easily treated germs, and made it MUCH harder to fight serious

infections by them.

The " laboratories " that have been cited are not recognized reference

laboratories, like Kline, LabCorp, etc., but labs that set their

own " normal " and " abnormal " ranges, without comparing them to general

population standards, as commercial labs do. They also don't accept

insurance, and insurance doesn't accept them, because they do not

recognize or maintain standard values.

Furthermore, there was a websites posted to obtain

antifungals " without prescription " - thereby thwarting the

prescription drug laws. This is a FELONY if you get caught - mail

fraud and wire fraud. Tell your kids how you are looking out for

their health from your jail cell, if that is what you want.

Hi,

Forgive me if I find your initial comment at the very least a little

disingenuous . I think you have suggested in your reaction to the

things I say that you DO have a problem with the diet which I have

used so effectively on my son.Your attitude to me speaks to your

contempt for what I am doing, which is fine as your opinion is at

least as valid as mine, but it may make things easier if you say so.

I was advocating gfcf and that was enough for you to describe me as a

looney religious campaigner . Now you are suggesting that I am

recommending , without thought or care , harmful treatments designed

to get the good people here locked up.

My reply made it apparent that I have reffered this treatment through

my Doctor ( and a paediatric Consultant )at every stage and I can't

see that I recommended anything different here. I believe I talked

about ways of helping to persuade a Doctor to help.

The website I ref'd to was a resource and I said that some people are

obtaining pro-biotics and anti-fungals WITH and without prescription.

If that misleasd you into believing that I was urging this lady to

track down twighlight nystatin pushers then I sincerely apologise.

I agree with you that much has happened in recent years to undermine

the effectiveness of anti-biotics .....but we both know , do we not,

that the proprtion of responsibility attributal to indescriminate

anti-fungal use is infinitesimal compared to the irresponsible and

reckless use of anti-biotics by some of your collegues !

I suggested that the lady try an pro-biotic first to see if there was

a reaction in her child , I recommneded that she look at some further

information, I assured her that I have had success with this

treatment and that my son showed few symptoms prior to treatment. I

also told her that many other mothers are having similar results and

I also indicated that she may want to encourage he Paed. to help her

on a " trial basis " .

Once again ...none of which seemed to me to justify your " talking to

your kids from your jail cell " jibe ! Do you think there is any

possibility that you could choose to disagree with me , and carry out

your quite justified and correct wish to warn parents of the

theoretical and non-mainstream nature of the things I advocate,

without resorting to really quite childish devices to make your

point ?

I seem to hold the people here in slightly higher esteem than you in

that I accept that they can believe or disbelieve me . I trust that

they love and care for their kids and will weigh what you and I , and

others say carefully -, gain further information if they need to and

will make their minds up . That is the very reason that most of them

are here and were persuing EFA's when for many , the medical

Establishment were dismissive or even obstructive.

I don't expect anyone to do as I do , but as I said before I will not

cease to tell people about what has helped my child - they are under

no obligation to even read it !

Regards

Deborah Dore.

Ps . I have named a lab and printed what I know about it - not being

in the USA that is all I can do . But thank you so much for your list

of reputable labs ..Kline Beecham !! That was the first laugh I

have had this morning !!!!! We really are at the opposite ends of

things here arn't we! I guess it makes for interesting discussion !

It's too bad that the concern for overuse of antibiotics is not applied

in the farming industry. It seems there is huge concern for overuse of

antibiotics to possibly help a child but little concern is voiced about

using antibiotics in cattle feed on a routine basis to increase the

weight of cows.

I just want to tell you all that it has been since April 7th since I

took AMPHOTERACIN B that Jim Brodsky perscibed for me, I took it

only 2 weeks and have been checked twice now and the yeast is still

gone. I have not changed my diet and I am feeling really good.

Also my son's girl friend was full of yeast because of antiboics and

Jim put her on it 3 weeks ago and the yeast is completely gone.

I have had 0 sugar carvings.

Maybe some of you should try it.

There are great candida supliments you can buy at the health food store you can

buy. If you find one with a chemist or at least a very knowledgeable person they

can give you everything you need to take care of this includine the most

important thing " diet " and probiotics. Or call 800-830-4778. Ask about

Candi-Gone. They will be ALOT of help to you.

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go...

[] yeast

Still full of yeast. Even in my sinuses. They put me on Diflucan as I couldnt

tolerate the sporanox and lotrisone to put up my nose.
