Welcome Aurora,

Nothing to worry about. No child has EVER died of measles. Some nutritionally

deficient people have died of complications caused by a lack of Vitamins A & C,

following measles.

Also, the so-called rubella syndrome (the other measles) that affects  the

foetus, is also identical to a Vitamin A deficiency.

Sounds as though your child is very lucky to have you as his Mum! Some children

have half a dozen rounds of antibiotics every winter.

Don't worry about measles - it is a non-issue in the healthy. Bet you wouldn't

even know he was ill if he gets it. He may have a bit of a cold & that is about

all.

Just keep the fluids up. Carrot juice is cool!  If eyes are light sensitive,

increase Vitamin A and shade lights and forget about watching TV or a VDU for a

while.

One son got a single measles jab in 1977 & he got the measles anyway, so the

darned thing didn't even work. Then his brother who never got the jab, got the

measles. They have never been vaccinated from that time on. (The elder son was

brain -injured by DPT in 1975 so that was HIS last vaccine.)

Also my unvaccinated niece was the last child in her peer group to get measles

(mostly military families) - all the rest had been vaccinated & they called it

atypical measles in them - the measles you get when you don't really get the

measles - that is, the vaccine doesn't work. Her dr said it was a pleasure to

see a classical case of (harmless) measles!

All the best,

Maracuja

hi,

I am new here.In the UK there is a media thing about a probable measles

epidemic. My son had the DPT at 2,3 and 4 months as i did not know

anything and i gave him tetanus booster last year.He is now 12.I feel

so stressed about the measle stuff-if he got it i would never forgive

myself. All i know is that my son is healthy-throws off stuff and never

so far has had antibiotics. If i had given him the anitb when dr said he

would have had 14 courses by now!How is measles treated naturally. I am

also getting nastly letters from my GP re the vaccine.I don't want to

do it yet feel maybe he is now 12 its better?

Hi Aurora,

Welcome to our group. I know you will learn much here. :)

The media really does a good job of instilling fear in the general

public, don't they? First, what are they constituting an " epidemic " ?

Here in the states 13 people nationwide came down with a disease last

spring (I think it was measles, can't remember for sure) and the media

reported it as an " epidemic " . 13 people out of a population of 300

MILLION.

Measles is NOT the " deadly disease " it has been made out to be. When

you hear statistics of deaths that occurred from measles, it's

propaganda by the allopathic community. What causes the deaths in

these individuals is a Vitamin A deficiency. The measles itself is

relatively benign in children, much like the chicken pox. Here are a

couple of links with TONS more info on measles and MMR vaccine:

http://whale.to/vaccines/measles.html (List mate, , put this

awesome website together)

http://whale.to/m/measlesdeaths1.html

http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/mmr.htm (Our Listowner, Sheri, put this

site together)

Natural treatments for measles is much like the cold. Plenty of

fluids, Vitamin A and C supps, steam, lots of rest, and keep the

curtain shades closed, if there is light sensitivity. The one thing

you DON'T want to do with measles (or ever, truthfully) is suppress

the fever with Tylenol or anything else. The measles needs the fever

to burn itself out. Fever is a GOOD thing!

It's best to try not to worry yourself with " what if " ? It sounds like

your son is very healthy, take comfort in that! Also, read and

educate yourself on vaccines and the diseases they are supposed to

prevent. The more knowledge you gain, the less worry and fear you

will have.

Again, welcome aboard! :)

Hi and welcome.

I had measles, I'm still alive. All the kids in my class had

measles, they all lived. My sisters had measles, they're alive.

Measles is not the end of the world - IF your kid gets it, treat him

homeopathically, he'll probably be well in a few days.

My mother had never heard of Homeopathy, probably still hasn't so we

had the doc come look at our spots, maybe gave us a few pills, but

basically we were in bed for a while, felt lousy for a while, then

got better, just the same as we did with chicken pox, mumps, etc,

etc, etc......

If you vaccinate your currently healthy kid, you're pumping him full

of poison - your choice.

I had the BCG at age 12, then got TB at age 15 - where was

the " protection " there?

Don't let some eejit browbeat you. Go with what you know to be

right. I hadn't realised we were becoming such a big brother state

too - copying america as ever.

There's media panic about measles outbreaks here in the US, too. It's calculated

to counter the concerns over the MMR. They figure if they make people nervous

about measles, that we'll all be begging for the MMR. Don't fall for it.

If you're concerned about your son getting measles, first know the vaccine isn't

guaranteed to protect anyway (per the manufacturers--I believe they don't work

at all).

Second, getting measles is not the problem. It's whether they die or are left

with some life-altering health effects. This is not likely to happen, especially

with your son who has a healthy immune system. But it is with the vaccine. So,

vaccine=likely; measles=not likely. Pick your poison.

I know I would feel very guilty if I knew my child throws off diseases easily,

and knew vaccines are safety hazards, and I caused him to die or be damaged from

allowing him to be vaccinated anyway. Every vaccine carries the risk of death.

Ask your doctor to guarantee it won't. Ask him/her to guarantee protection. All

you will get in response is reassuring rhetoric about it being very safe, how

they've never seen a problem and it is your duty as your parent to overcome your

irrational fears.

I don't know how measles is treated naturally. I never had it, never had the

vaccine and none of my four children, ages 9-18 (half vaxed/half not) have had

it. I imagine by the usual bedrest and fluids, and for us, homeopathy.

Listen to your own heart and use your common sense. Don't let anyone, even us

here on this list, to pressure you. Good luck!
