Yes, am looking for new day care!! You were all as outraged as I am

about a day care provider painting half her house with my baby

there! I;m looking at a corporate non-profit facility today (Avon in

Rye , NY) How can I check if they take state aid (other than asking

them directly)...Anyone have any experience with them or live in or

near Rye, NY....Anyone deal with our schools yet for an exemption?

I would not do daycare. When I was working I found wonderful babysitters to

come into my home and watch my children for the same price as daycare. One

of them had a child of her own that she brought with her and she loved it b/c

he was an only child and this gave him playmates everyday. Not to mention

when I left for work all my kids were asleep- I didn't have to wake them, get

them ready, etc. and when I came home at lunch I could nurse my baby in the

comfort of my own home. I have friends that bring their children to in home

daycares (I think they can only have 6 kids at a time) and they are nice as

well. I just think in your home or in anothers home provides more attention

for

you children.

I would be mortified if someone painted while my child was there!

Good luck

Amy

Once again, THANK YOU ALL for your comments, suggestions, guidance,

and support...Shelby is 95% all better!!! I followed your advice and

she got better each and every day....So, here's where we are:

Blood work came back " negative " for any bacterial infection. I know

that's what doc was looking for....funny, even the voice on the

phone from the doc's office (she couldn't be bothered to call me

herself) mentioned that since we didn't have shots we were in GRAVE

DANGER!! They told me that they " caught it in time.. " (the gal was

just parroting back what the other gal in her office was telling

her..) So, I asked, I should stop the antibiotics right? NO!! You

must keep giving them! I questioned this..some other gal got on the

phone to reiterate how they caught it in time (it?) but don't stop

the amoxicillin....sigh.... I am supposed to follow-up, but I don't

really see the point.....I'm going to cancel(by the way, when the doc

had us come in last week for the blood work and x-rays, " since we

don't vaccinate " she told me that she wasn't ordering these tests " as

a punishment " Huh?? Thought you'd all like that statement! I

didn't see it as a punishment I saw it as her doing her job!

So..here are my questions...

I stopped the antibiotics....I was going to continue the last 4 days,

but, gee, what a surprise, baby has a yeasty looking diaper area!!!

I gave her yogurt for lunch and will start Florababy probiotics. Any

other suggestions???

One more question..any info on a Dr Fred nti, naturopath/

acpuncturist in Eastchester, NY??? I'm done with the allopathic

community.

Peace and love and health and happiness to ALL of you. You helped me

thru a rough time and I am grateful. Sincerely, yvette

i would agree with amy. my brother's girlfriend used to work in one... i know

they are not all the same... but the children do not get individualized

attention and the younger ones are ignored even more so.  here in NJ the county

has a list of private home daycare providers that are licensed, cpr first aid

trained, etc.  i was looking for a more " family " setting.  And here in NJ they

all accept state aid as far as i know.  I must have interviewed about 10

individuals before i found the " right " fit for my daughter.  whatever you

decide, dont go on the cost alone... do ask for references, ask tons of

questions...  and go with your gut.  i hope your local government offers

something similar.

good luck.

Great news, Yvette! And you did the right thing to stop the antibiotics. If

there's nothing bacterial, what's the point?? Plus, the yeasty rash is not fun.

I would probably go for the followup to have her lungs given an all-clear for

the record. You can also tell her about the rash and get that on record.

Or go to a new doc and have them do the follow up. Whether you do or not, it

sounds as if she'll be just fine.

I can't help with NY docs or day cares. If you want to hop over to CT for a

great naturopath, it's less than an hour to Josh Berry in Hawleyville.

Anyway, good job and hope you have a Happy New Year!

Hi, my name is Anissa (White Plains, NY) and I'm new to the group. This is my

first post,

but I've been reading the board as much as I can and collecting info regarding

vaccines.

My daughter is 3 months and I've rejected vaccinations. I am currently taking

Sheri's class

on Diseases & Treatments. It's crazy what your daycare did. If you can avoid

daycare do

so. Unfortunately I can't and I am scheduled to go back to work on Tuesday, the

6th.

While I don't have experience with state aid or Dr. nti, you should check

out

www.cfic.us - Coalition for Informed Choice regarding any exemptions in NY. I

hope this

helps. Glad to hear your daughter is doing better!
