i would def. do the garlic clove with olive oil.

just curious about your comment on ear infection complications turning into

meningitis.  is there a connection between the two that i am not aware of?

Subject: OT: Ear Infection Help NEEDED!

My daughter, 16 months has a cough and a cold. I took her to the doctor

Friday and also today as we were on our way to the airport to catch a

flight for the holidays. I decided to get her checked out to be safe.

She hasn't been sick much. The doctor said her lungs sound clear but

has a mild ear infection on her right ear. Given that she hasn't had an

ear infection ever (no vaccines either) she said it would probably heal

itself.

However, I would like to give her something like garlic oil or whatever

TRULY helps clear ear infections as the other option is

antibioitcs, which I don't want to do but I don't want complications

like menigitis either.

We are now postponing our flight. I am anxious to get her well first

and foremost.

Does anyone know for certain what direction they can send me? I will

contact a local health nutrition store too.

thanks!

Stacey

Her pediatrician said that if it didn't clear up and there are could

be complications from an untreated ear infection. She wasn't trying

to alarm me, but I did want to know what I would be up against.

She said mengititis can be a complication of an ear infection. I've

heard it before...she said it's rare.

If that link doesn't come through or work for some reason, go to the

files section of this forum and click on " OnionforEaraches.pdf " . The

onion really works!

Maybe your doc truly believes she is giving you the best advice

possible, but the meningitis issue is really just another one of the

scare tactics they use to try to get you to vaccinate when you're

feeling vulnerable... what better time to scare a parent than when a

child is sick?

My standard formula for ear infections is Vit. C, Larix and homeopathic meds

(the two I have used most are Belladonna and Pulsatilla, sometimes Ferrum

Phos.), plus a vaporizer and no dairy products.

The meningitis scare is typical from the peds where ear infections are

concerned. With all the ear infections two of my kids had, you would think one

of them would have gotten meningitis at some point, but they didn't. Good that

your ped said it might heal on its own, though!

That's right. They kick you when you're down. It even worked on me and I knew

better, after years of going to a naturopath and treating ear infections

naturally. My little guy had one infection after another during his first year

(due to ER overdoing it for a minor condition early on) and they pulled the

meningitis threat out each time. Must have had cloudy brain from hormones...

Stacey,

2 products I have used successfully are wally's ear oil- and Nutribiotic ear

drops (which has grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil) -  this one work

unbelieveably in 1 day her symptoms were gone... you can get both from a

healthfood store...
