Guest guest
Hello, I joined this group about one year ago after my then 4 year old daughter had a severe reaction to her first immunizations. I have posted here a few other times, but have never officially given any introduction. So, before I ask for some advise, I'll give a little background info. I have refused immunizations from the time my oldest was a baby, but felt pressured by the school system and my husband when we enrolled her in school last year. At the time, I was not aware of any exemption letter. My oldest has never received any additional immunizations and my youngest is immunization free. I recently discovered when I had to present my immunization record at my new employment that my pediatrician stopped immunizing me at approximately 12 months. As an adult, I have always refused vaccination because that is what I was taught. Obviously, it started at a much younger age than I realized. My record simply states see notes, which are absent and the pediatrician is now deceased. I was asked to receive a series of immunizations for the job I started earlier this year. I refused. In fact, I was sure I had just lost the job offer from the way I was treated. Now, I need some advise. I'm pretty certain my youngest daughter and I currently are showing signs of whopping cough. Beginning tomorrow, I will be entering my fifth week of coughing. Last week, I began the whooping sound after I cough. I tried to cover the sound up the other day, but a friend (a nurse) of mine quickly pointed it out too. My daughter is vomiting after coughing. I do not wish to seek any treatment from the health system I work and that is the only place our insurance will cover us. I can just imagine what employee health will say when they discover the person that refused immunization is ill with what might be whopping cough. A disease they claim is preventable by immunization. Of course, it could not be whooping cough. I haven't received a diagnosis from a professional. Maybe we both have bad colds, but our symptoms do sound very much like whooping cough. There has been an " outbreak " in our community, including several cases within the health system I work. I have seen posts of other groups to join that give naturopathic advise, could someone please send me the names of those groups. Or, if anyone has naturopathic advise could you please e-mail it to me privately as I think this may be off topic. Additionally, if anyone is aware of a naturopath in Northern IL, I'd appreciate a recommendation. Thank you,
