First of all I would like to introduce AIDS Prevention Association of Pakistan (APAP)and their activities before you AIDS Prevention Association of Pakistan (APAP) is working on Preventive Health, HIV/AIDS, STIs awareness, Reproductive health, Population Welfare (Family Planning) in Lahore ,Distt Kasur in the Red Light area of Pattoki ,Distt Okara Red Light area of Okara Punjab. AIDS Prevention Association is working with great courage, determination and commitment despite of financial constraints and limitation and working on totally self-finance basis for eight years. It is registered NGO and the coordinator of Punjab AIDS Consortium (PAC) working under Govt of Pakistan & UNAIDS. APAP is local coordinator 2003-4 of International Candle Light memorial and has affiliation with NATPOW (National Trust for Population Welfare). Member; Pakistan Reproductive Health Network (PRHN). The head office of AIDS Prevention Association of Pakistan is in Lahore, Gulberg and the sub office is in Samanabad Lahore. Other sub offices are one is in Red Light area of Pattoki, second is in Red Light area of Okara and the third is in Chunain. In two offices of Red Light area we are providing literature about HIV/AIDS, STD, awareness, information, condoms and counseling facilities to prostitutes and their clients. In the office of Chunain we are providing the awareness regarding HIV/AIDS to Youths community and she males/ Hijras/Gay (MSM). We have focused our attentions on the Urs Festival of religious persons where many prostitutions/ CSWs, Shemales/sex workers come and established their business. In these Urs no one NGO in Pakistan is working. APAP organizes a camp in Urs (Festival) where APAP provides HIV/AIDS, STDs awareness, Counseling facility, First aid facility and does some group meetings with Youths, Shemales/Hijras/Gay and CSWs to guide them towards non-risky behavior. The purpose of sharing the glimpse of activities of APAP is, to exchange experiences with you,to seek the information about female condoms because hese condoms are not available in pakistan.
