Anyone removed mercury fillings?

Has anyone removed mercury fillings? If so, can you tell me what

kind of material you had them replaced with? My regular dentist

will remove them and replace them with something called composite

bonded tooth-colored. I only have 2 and am trying to figure out if

this is worth it. My mercury levels were quite low, but in order to

go up on the heavy metal detox they should be out. Quite

confusing. There is a holistic dentist in Atlanta, but they were

quoting me hundreds of dollars to remove just 2.
