Yes, that sounds like the mantra they are all trained to repeat. It really

doesn't make sense, because if you choose not to vax, you're agreeing to the

supposed increased risk of disease, even epidemics. If you vax, then you're

covered. Everyone's happy.

And we should be good citizens first, and good parents second? Hmmm....well,

that's pretty stupid. Who does that leave to parent our children??

He says vaccines are as safe as possible? Could be right, considering none are

safe and never will be.

From the sounds of this guy, his mind is about as twisted closed as they come.

No hope in convincing him otherwise. I would switch docs, because God forbid

your child ever got sick and this rabid doctor found out.

Subject: Re: 2 MONTH VACCINATIONS??---included the " info " the Dr.

gave me....

i just have to fume over that " be a good citizen first " crap.

i'm sorry, but if any dr. opened THAT can of worms, i'd be walking out

the door before they could say anything else stupid.

we care for ourselves in pregnancy BECAUSE we're good mothers, we make

sure they don't eat junk food BECAUSE we're good mothers. we make

sure they learn to be good KNOWLEDGEBLE people BECAUSE we're good

mothers & in lines of raising them, we want them to be stable enough

to take care of themselves when they grow up.. everything we DO &

DON'T do, is because we're FIRST, good mothers.

it is OUR JOB to make sure they're safe b/c i'm sorry but there's

fewer & fewer 'good citizens' in this world, so it defaults to us.

you ARE a good citizen by being a good MOTHER first & foremost &

making sure that your child is protected & not used to further

someone's agenda. mother's intuition is MUCH better than any dr.s

'training'.

continue testing the water, continue asking questions till YOU are

satisfied. if we didn't need mothers, we'd come to this world as good

citizens & not need to be 'raised' by people that care about us. it

sucks to be the gate keeper, but when your children grow up healthy &

able, you'll feel so much better about it!

That's great--we'd come as good citizens. Well said!

Yep, this is basically the old " herd immunity " argument, and I would have

guessed he used this argument, because they all do. However, these diseases

were on the decline BEFORE the vaccines were even introduced. On top of

that, the presence of antiboties for a particular disease DOES NOT equal

immunity.

Here's a good blog entry on that subject, from one of our listmates:

This is THE argument the pro-vaxers use that gets my blood boiling worse

than any other... I'll use the same analogy I used here a few months ago:

If the above reasoning is true, then let's say that my child is playing in

the street. A bus is barrelling top-speed toward him. Is it your

responsibility as a " good citizen " to throw YOUR child in front of the bus

in hopes that it will hit him then veer off and not hit MY child? This is

essentially what they are asking you to do when you vaccinate your child.

Sacarifice YOURS for the mine. Hardly good parenting.

Since vaccines can NEVER be free of the toxins and diseases, they will never

be safe, so perhaps he's right, and they are " as safe as possible " . That

doesn't make them safe.

Yep! It's the same BS, different day.

Good for you. They tune you out when you start giving them your facts on

the dangers... turn about is fair play.

Awesome! Can't wait to see the links. :)

I think we all ought to save your responses and have them ready the next time

these arguments are posed. Maybe have a sheet ready just like Dr.

Wanna-be-an-Offit for new parents to go to the ped with. You hit every point

right on target!
