Guest guest
So, we missed Thanksgiving with my husband's side of the family because one of his niece's had the chicken pox full on and they were just going to come and not tell anyone. lol Um, no. My 8yo's immune system is in a precarious position and I've been advised NOT to ever expose her to the chicken pox. So, there was a huge family uprising about that. They just couldn't understand why it was such a big deal. *rolls eyes* Since then said child recovered from the chicken pox and was at a family gathering this afternoon for the winter holiday. Parents both stated, " She had the vaccine so she only had a mild case. It was no big deal, really. " *banging head on wall* Really? She had the vaccine and STILL got the chicken pox?? Wow! Who would have thought it possible?? (Note the sarcasm.) Why, why do people still believe in this bullshit?!?!? Oh yeah, that's right, the parents both work for the public school system - one a teacher and one a school psychologist. They are so deeply entrenched in the system I don't know if there is any way to get them out. :-( I feel sorry for their daughters, I wonder if they've received the HPV vax yet. <-- Banging her head on the wall, but it isn't getting any softer. )0(~~~)0(~~~)0( Mom to Brittany, vag 08/31/93, dx'd IDDM 05/28/01; , c/s 06/28/97; Shayna, Inv T c/s 06/01/00, dx'd NCS 12/03/08; Thalea, VBA2C 06/24/07 MC - 04/20/08 Read Thalea's birth story here: http://www.jessicas-haven.com/baby.htm Vaccine free since 1999.
