That used to be the train of thought but not any more. Clear can mean infection

too.

On the yellow/green vs. clear, that's my take on it, too. When it's clear, no

problem. Colored means there's an infection going on--doesn't mean it's serious,

though. I never thought about it as being the goal to make it clear, but I

suppose that makes sense. You want them to get the yucky stuff out and then it's

either clear or gone.

We live by EmergenC, too. My older kids will take it on their own whenever they

feel something coming on. My little guy has finally stopped rejecting it for the

fizziness--took nine years!
